I just think it would frickin' badass if, for example, you get your arm lobbed off... and then you spend the rest of the battle fighting back one-armed against your opponent. Hell, tear your opponents arm off and beat them with it! Of course, damage would be repaired for the next match-up, but, still... it would easily surpass Monty Python's Holy Grail's dismemberment!

That would be cool. But it would be fair for the person receiving the damage

Just 'cause your arm got hacked off doesn't mean you can't hack of your opponent's arm. You'd be just a vicious, but it would be more like a facier "Impale" move.

I really like this idea! smile

But I would hate to see one broken arm be in the right place for the next round.

Like deathtraps.....(grrrrr)

Not rounds. Next matches, it could be fixed up. I'm keen on the idea, too. Tao Feng had a good idea, but failed to realize it. MK could do just that. I think it was, and don't hold me to this, Fear Effect where one character got his arm blown off and spent the REST OF THE GAME without it. That's something that could be done in MK. MK is so unrealistically gory, why not have some realistic disarming (pun intended) by chopping some arms off? Fatality.

Sure, why not. Does anyone have ducttape. Merly a flesh wound. Can someone hold it for me. ..

Hehe yeah i think it's a cool concept. Hopefully we can see it in MK7.

That would be pretty cool. The same as impaling with the sword. It should not dissapear in the next round. They should have it where you have to enter this long ass code to pull the sword out of you and you could use it.
Also mabe they would have ripped clothes this time because they were supposed to have it in Deadly Alliance.

Anybody remember the arcade game Time Killers? Characters' arms could be severed in mid-round and they would be forced to fight without their arm(s) for the rest of the round (or match? I don't remember). IIRC, you could attack by squirting blood at your opponent from your stump, and if you got both arms cut off and still won, the game would announce an "Armless Victory". The game was sort of a wanna-be MK.

I think I remember that game. Can you get your head cut off in the game. Then when the match is called they show who won and who lost, and they show a picture of the guys head cut off.

Yes, heads could be cut off, too. That was the finishing move--I think you had to hit all the buttons at the same time, and your character would chop off your opponent's head and arms (if the arms weren't gone already). And after the match, it would show the winner and loser in Street Fighter-style closeups, and the loser would be headless if the finisher was performed. I don't remember much more, because I played the game exactly once.

Myself I think that idea sounds cool, but no for MK. MK: DA to me did a great take on Mortal Kombat in terms of 3-D( better han MK4) that also put in 2 fighting styles and one weapon, which work( at least for me). Cutting off limbs in MK would in my point of view take away the gameplay that you can do everything that your oppent can do till the very end. In all to me cuting of a foot or hand would give too much of an advantage to your challager.

I think I read somewhere that limbs can be broken, bu not severed. Yes, it was in the Gameinformer interview. So is it safe to say that John Tobias is back on the MK roster?

No! What would happen to the fighting styles. I want to see ripped clothing and bruises and cuts on the bodies and limbs of the kombatants.
