Far too hard to do though. It'd have to take into account who you were fighting, how much visible damage was done, where exactly on the playing field you were etc.

No, because not only would they have to make a cinematic for EVERY possible pairing of character, for multiple fatalities, it would take about 2 discs worth of cinematic just get the fatalities in.
