For You, What is the MOST IMPORTANT element in Deception?

Graphics ?: how pretty the game looks overall, regardless of other components.
Gameplay ?: how you manuever your character around the screen, and how opponents react to hits, combos, juggles.
Kontent ?(hidden things, unlockables in the krypt and Mini Games): element of gaining more in a game, other than just the game itself. Things that make you come back for more, and earn those extra dragon koins. Also the chess and puzzle kombat modes.
Special Moves and Fatalities ?: (sub zero's freeze, kenshi's telekentic slam etc...): How cool the characters moves and fatalities are.
Character Line-up ?: How many characters are returning favorites, how many are included in the line-up and how they appear (outfits).
STORY - Konquest Mode ?: Big enough to be its own element, Konquest mode is shapping up to be one hell of a ride. Story, interaction and the truths behind the characters.

Tough question. If I had to pick only one I think I would pick kontent. Not that anything else isn't as important, but I think kontent will keep you playing more than the other elements in Deception.

Gameplay, duh. Not necessarily uber complex gameplay, such would turn off some players, just quality. Something that allows diversity, logical decsion making, and depth.

I would say special moves and fatalities. (I presume that includes death traps.) In my opinion they are what make Mortal Kombat what it is. In my opinion.

I would make it a tie between gameplay and character line-up. Gameplay is obvious, but if you have a shotty line-up of characters, you've really ruined the game.

All good responses. Its tough, i was asking myself this question as i was typing it out. Logically, past MK games have all met a certain quality in all these elements. With deception, Boon and co. are definately working hard to make sure the game has all of these features, no doubt.
For me it starts with the gameplay. I have to be comfortable with the controls and manuervering my fighter and being able to strike blows. Then its a tie between characters and their move sets. I am a big fan of the specials and fatalities, as are everyone else.

. Sounds Effects:
I'm extremely interested in the characters' voices especially when they die (like falling from a very high place where MK2 was the best with the Pit Fall fatality) this will shiver me.
Also, musics that will give the sense of darkness and excitement.
. Then comes the dark/frightening backgrounds' graphics and characters' vague looks.

i would have 2 say it is a tie between gameplay and special moves/fatalities.

Basically, That's What All Of You Are Saying, Or The Less-Destructive/Kombative People Just Aren't Replying In This Thread. There's Nothing Wrong With Good Gameplay: It Is An Important Element. But I, Before Anything Else, Look For An Excellent Storyline & Replay Value In A Game.

I'm glad the Fatalities have been amped up. I just pray there's no corny Fatalities. If Kabal is in the game I hope he doesn't use either of his classic Fatalities.
I'm also looking forward to the side games. I'm REALLY looking forward to the revised Konquest.
Kontent is nice but I'd rather have more characters. I don't really feel there's anything they can show us, other than concept art for this game, that they didn't show us in DA.
Either way, I feel this will be the best MK or at least come a close second to MK II.
