Im having troubles with this too, also with giving the guard on the bridge the cake or pie. Maybe the ring is not in edenia?

I have been looking for the ring since day one. I have all of the krypt done and still cannot find this damn ring. I did get the guard to take the poisoned pie. Try to punch him, if you swing and miss (as in punch goes right thru him) then meditate for 24 hours and try again, it seems to fix it most times.
