Well I do whine about the Frost glitch in MKDA on my early X-Box model. So to avoid that from happening again, lets give Midway some old school help. Let them release betas of the game to retailers to get feedback on the game, kinda like the arcades all over! This way they can work out some bugs too, but releasing more betas and finally the final version for retail. This would also build of hype for the game like it did in the arcades.

Well, in theory, it's a good idea. In practice, it will cost a shit load of money and would be highly in-effecient. Even if Midway has the financial backing, who says the higher ups wouldnt want that $$$ for production filtered strictly to themsleves? Even though Midway is doing better with the sales of DA, they are still not out of the hole. I mean think about it; a few thousand copies of MK6 would cost a lot of money. And just for a beta test session? Nah.

As long as a solid group of knowledgeable, hardcore, and open minded testers are used in the testing proccess then there really shouldn't be a problem. It's not like a pc where you can produce a half assed, glitchy game then just release patches. It's not like the arcade, either; where the production and distribution of PCBs is only a fraction of what it would be for world wide console distribution to stores.

Saty knows what's up!

I'm not sure what Midway's future plans will be for post-work on MK6, but they usually have an extensive quality assurance team and I know they have focus groups for some (not sure if all) titles.
