I want to know this too dammit!
I went to Gamestation today and they only have release dates for the XBox & PS2 on the 19th, and in Game they said they think Midway are waiting to see if it does well on these systems first before releasing it on the GC!!!
Stop screwing us around Midway - I'd rather it came out next year and know it then forever being told dates that are closer but get cancelled!
Not very good marketing strategy is it? - If you keep prolonging any official release date you're MORE likely to lose customers as we'll just get fed up with getting our hopes up and then forget about it entirely!
And of course it's going to do well on the XBox and PS2 - that's no question, and it will do fine on GC too - it's receiving far too much attention online to not do - so don't ignore us!
You're not impressing your fans by fobbing off the Gamecube and Europe as unimportant, I can tell you!
Make up your minds already! furious

Hey - No one's dissing Europe or GameCube as being "unimportant". Know the difference between "unimportant" and "unprofitable". You have to remember that Midway can't release the next MK unless it will make money. These days, with all the 3-D rendering and flashy effects, video games are not what they used to be. They often have to sell a million copies just in order to break even.
If they can't reach those numbers on the GameCube market in PAL countries, then that's the end of that. They wouldn't miss out on an opportunity to make money, believe me.

as far as I know... they're only going to make a north american gamecube version of the game next year (not a PAL). But they may change their minds.

I understand what you're getting at, but my main point was - in the midst of my rambling - that they shouldn't get our hopes up and pose release dates to us if they're not going to follow through, especially if they NEVER follow through.
And in the point that if they don't release it in EU because it won't make considerable profit is the fact that is peeing me off. To them, in their language, "unprofitable" is what they deem as "unimportant", and that is what's getting on my non-existent tits! sad
Deadly Alliance was released here on the GC - and surely it did at least okay in terms of profitibility? I got my copy this year from a massive selection of copies of it in a second hand shop (Gamestation). And this was over two years after its release date. What's the difference this time? People would still buy it when it comes out - trust me.
Plus I can tell you - the GC is no more or less popular in the UK for example than it was when it first came out.
It will sell here, and if you also include the rest of the world who gets the PAL version - the product will do itself justice.
I just hate the fact that whatever the cause, we're being left in the dark.

The Gamecube version wont be out in the USA until next year, which is why it wont be out in Europe on the 19th. Maybe next year after the GC's version on American release.
But even if it doesn't get released in Europe on Cube, just relax - the Cube is the only machine that allows simple and easy import-gaming on it. Just buy a "Freeloader" off Amazon.co.uk or Play.com or something, they're usually around £11.99, it's a USA/Jap boot-disc, simple to use and harmless to your Cube, works perfect on my PAL machine for import games.
So there you go, no matter what, you'll be able to play MKD on your Cube.
The real question is will the PAL communities see a Collector's edition of the game (on ANY format)... cos it looks like we're not gonna be getting our History of MK DVD and arcade version of MK1. Now THAT's unfair.

Thanks Surgir_Da_Sepultura for the link. Much appreciated (I thought I might have to consider such a measure - I've got a similar boot disk on my Dreamcast)
The special edition thing is so cool (I want MK1!) that'd suck if couldn't get that as MK1 is only MK I don't own on any system. I wanna rip people's heads of old-skool style with old-skool Sub. tongue It's old-fashionedness makes it look more violent wink

On the American one it has been given a relese date and on the UK one, on the forums, it says it will be coming out!!! furious

Well if that's true - then I'm satisfied.
But I won't get my hopes up again I can tell you.
Sometimes they really actually mean it for a time but then they cancel a game or release right at the last second.
So I'm gonna chill now, and put my mind on other things, consider opting to expect the worst, then if it suddenly comes out in the future whenever, it'll be a nice suprise and I'll be overjoyed tongue
