GameSpy Hosting Ps2??

With GameSpy hosting ps2 for online, does this mean its going to cost money to play online?? Like a monthly fee or yearly

I sure hope not but it sure does sound like it. For them to host they are most certainly gonna have to recoup costs for hosting. That sux.

that doesnt make sense though, why would you have to pay for it. i play plenty of games online for ps2 and i never had to pay monthly for anything!!! if you have to pay for this im scared i might break something.

hmm.. no you don't have to pay.. its just a service.. look unreal is on gamespy.. do u have to pay no... alot of games go for gamespy and u don't need a monthly sub.. so quite worrining about it...

gamespy hosts all the tony hawk games(3+), and by the sounds of it, no u don't pay for subscription fees.

I have quite a few Ps2 titles hosted by gamespy,Not one of them charge extra.
Whew!

FOr a minute, was gettng scared there!

Midway would have really shot themselves in the foot if they had tried to charge people to play the game online.

This aint Final Fantasy....

Gamespy does cost money. There's 2 different accounts you can get. The Ad Supported ( With Millions of Pop Ups) is free, though. I don't know if it will get MK D sent to it. I downloaded it anyhow.

But you have to play for xbox live anyway.

There is a way to get around it though. I have not tried it.

We're not talking about the pc.Gamespy does NOT charge for ps2 games.

I wonder how Gamespy is going to make any money if they dont charge any subscription fee. There has to be some other alternate motives for not charging. Because it does cost lots of money for maintaing servers and bandwith, etc confused
