yeah, they're putting anyone in that background stage, including dead characters, ones that are obviously dead won't be coming back, obvious as in one of the characters with a generally small fan-base.

Goro won't be playable in any form.

For some reason i always hated goro and i still do i dont know why theres something about him maybe its his ponytail.Kintaro always has been my fav sub boss i think he is the best ever in any mk game.

Kintaro is my favorite sub-boss of all time, but you can't hate Goro. You just don't have the right to hate first original sub boss in fighting games.
