Hara Kiri VS Fatality

Well it looks like there is no contest. When you are playing someone it was thought that when the match ended the fastest finger would get the finisher whether it be fatality or hara kiri. From what I am seeing now it appears the hara kiri has the severe upper hand for one reason. They don't have to be at a certain distance to perform them. While your opponent is struggling to get in that all important distance for their fatality, you just enter the command and kill yourself. It looks like we will be seeing a lot more of people doing hara kiris to steal your thunder than actually getting the ultimate facial by doing a fatality. Really not fair if you ask me. I just hope that most of the time I get lucky and kill them in a distance to where I don't have to move and can just input the code for the fatality. Oh well, here is to hoping.

Yup just fooled around with it to check for the possibility of distances for Hara Kiris and there are none. With my test with Kira you can do her Hara Kiri no matter where you opponent is standing AND you can input the command as soon as you die. This leave the person doing the fatality with only once chance to pull one off and that is in the case they kill the opponent and they are at the appropriate distance from the get go. Hara Kiris definitely have the upper hand.

real players dont Hara Kiri everytime they get beaten online. i only hara kiri if someone ends up beating off of a cheap move repeated over and over again. other than that i let my opponent kill me unless he tells to do the Hara Kiri cuz he hasnt seen it.

Yes, but thats not really the point. Someone trying to pull off a fatality is at a massive disadvantage vs someone doing a hara-kiri. Both fatalisties and hara-kiri's have the same number of button combinations, but fatalities have certain distances they have to be away. Its really not fair, but oh well.
I personally liked MKDA's way of doing them (and yes, I'm an old school Mk1v1.0 player). I have always hated fatality distances.

Once u got all you fav char's moves down, you know where your oppenet will land afterwords, finish him with a move that will place him at the correct postistion then BOOM! you got him!
