The black, charred clothes are explained (presumably) in his MKD bio, which states that he "sacrificed himself by releasing his Godlike essence, creating an intense etheral blast". As for red eyes...in keeping with the "burned out" look I guess.

Can't see why not! Unless it turns out it's not really Raiden (like people thought with Jade/Tanya), but that seems a little far-fetched...

On totalmortalkombat.com, they have a picture where it says his alignment is good.

It would be an awesome deception.

I think Rayden should turn evil, at least for a limited time, or maybe even trick us by pretending he is evil (when he is actually still good) for some reasons we would discover at the end or in a future game.

I really think he has potential for an evil character and it would make him a lot more interesting. His story needs a deep change.
