Yes theres been a bunch of things about "what do you think of "Ben/Kobra"? What will be his story? Is he another Johnny Cage replacement?...He is a Johnny Cage replacement.....what in the fuck are you talking about.....just because his feet are showing means he's looks exactly like Cage...???? really wtf?...not one character has ever looked "karate"...they had some costume.....he looks just as a martial arts champion would with his suit....we really Don't know his weapons/moves/story/specials/fatalities.... whether hes good or bad.....so why do you hate him?.....have you played the game?....did Boon post something that said...well Ben is just a replacement of Cage...so theres no real point to him.....I Really dont think so...yes you opinions are your own you dont have to like him at all....but thats AFTER you play it....I think he's got some pretty damn good potential....who know's he could be your favorite Kharacter come the realease.....so fot all you "Ben Haters"....explain to me why he isnt a good character?

On the contrary, I love the idea of Ben Kobra. Sometimes I would play Mokap in DA just because he was straight up martial arts. Hopefully, they won't weigh him down with flying around and fireball throwing, and we'll have something cool.

He isn't a good character because out of all the species they could've made a new character out of, all the fighting styles they could've used, he just looks like a mix of Street fighter's Ken and Tekken's Jin Kazama and if current rumours are correct he'll play just like Johhny Cage.

That's why he's not a good character bcause he isn't a new character in his own right, he's just a mix of other people, what a waste of memory, they could've done a new Shokan that people have suggested, or they could've brought back someone else from MK:DA, or they could've brought back a sub-boss from the classics and gave him a 3D make over. But instead we get this mix and match character.

no i dont hate you at all....as i said...i respect your opinions ut you have no idea what he's about...no one does....once you play the game, and he has the same moves and styles as Cage then I'll admit I'm wrong as hell...but you never know...he has the chance to be something great or he could be terrible.....another thing I heard is one of his styles will be "boxing"...that could be cool...But as I said we'll have 2 see

I've hated the Ben/Kobra character since I first saw him. To me, he looks like the MK designers ran out of ideas, and went for just another generic karate guy you find in most other beat em ups. Christ, he even looks like Jin Kazama in one outfit, and Ken in the other. I'll give him a chance when the game is out, hopefully he'll be interesting to play as, but since I find most average beat em up karate guys boring, I do not have high hopes for him.

But, one thing I've always disagreed with is comparing him to Johnny Cage. Yes, they share one fighting style, from what we've seen. But many MKD characters share styles with MKDA ones. And other reasons given comparing the two, and saying they are connected (or worse, the same character) are just bullshit, and have no credibility in my opinion. Besides, Johnny deserves far better than having this lame wannabe compared with him.

I agree with you BMF23, I'm liking Kobra, in terms of design I prefer him to ashrah, I think if they don't screw his fighting styles, fatalitys and special moves, he'll be great

and if he's a jin wannabe because of the hood, jin is a noob saibot wannabe...duh

To me, he doesn't seem very MK-ish. He seems to be a character that would be better fit in the Tekken games. All we know so far about this guy is that he's a martial arts champion.

well nonetheless he still looks promising 2 me... I like the hood...fuck Jin dont care dont really like tekken anyway...hes NOT johnny cage...i will admit though...i was a hardass with Cage in MK:DA but its not him as much as i liked him....they just wouldnt pull shit like that....butttt we'll see....hope he's bad because thats who im gonna try to get good with

I actually like Ben at this point. I like the way he looks, and besides it’s not fair to compare him with other characters. MK has many characters in total and no matter what new character they will come up with there is always something you can compare with another character. Especially if you’re comparing with characters from other fighting games.

I don’t mind if he will end up with one fighting style of Cage. As long as they don’t give him his moves because then it’s a waste of space IMO. If he gets his own moves and fatalities and stuff he may turn out to be a great character.

well so far ive seen ben as a more tekkenish character. tekken has the karate and dojo people that you see walking down the streets. MK on the other hand has ninjas and samurai and even other races. so yes even though he is looking like take offs of other games im willing to wait and see what he plays like and what his story is. I honestly never liked cage throughout MK after the fourth MK and in the last one he had two costumes i didnt like and so if this is a replacement for cage i welcome it in a way...no offense to you cage lovers out there he just is too pridefull and his hair looked abit too fake too lol

It's not that I dont like him... he's just boring... Theres nothing interesting ( as of now ) that really gets your attention...

Ok like Subzero... he throws ice.. Scorpion has a freakin spear comin out his hand... Lei Mei has the hoochi outfit goin on ( I kinda like it ) ... and Ermacs got the Egyptian mummy cloth wrapped around his head... the point is, is that something is catchy about the person...

Ben/Kobra ( w/e the name ) has an alt. costume that looks kinda like that dude from tekken ( so i do agree he looks like a tekken reject in that costume)... and his primary costume looks like somethin u see every martial arts kid wears... so u see i dont hate him, its just that hes boring

Ok Ben Kobra in all seriousness probably, and might be a Johnny Cage wannabe. Some people have suggested normal characters that they wanted to look like someone. I dont know. I never really liked Johnny Cage to begin with, but I dont like Ben Kobra at all, I mean his name is cool, if they had animalities, and all that. But he's just like Johnny Cage. Not completely, but he is like a rub off. Only thing good about Ben is that his last name wants people to play as him,lol.
