"Hey, Smoke...where in the hell have you been?"

Do you think MK Deception will give us good reasons for why characters like Smoke, Nightwolf, Ermac, Tanya, Sindel, and Kabal disappeared for several years? Do any of you have theories?

I figure the following happened to the classic characters who are returning:

Smoke: Smoke dissapeared after MK3, trying to cope with his new cybernetic form. After a few weeks in hiding, Raiden appeared to Smoke, thanking him for his part in the defeat of Shao Kahn. Raiden saw how Smoke struggled with his form and offered him a new form, and rank; Smoke would be a gaurdian of Earth, and it's elemental God of Smoke. Smoke accepted, and lived the past 10 years with the other elemental gods. However, when The Dragon King threatened the Realm of Earth, Raiden asked for Smoke's help; in debt to Raiden, The God of Smoke naturally obliged.

I don't have such detailed theories for everyone else, but:

Tanya was probably in an Edenian jail; or maybe even in the Netherealm.

Mileena probably died in MK Gold, and went back to the Netherealm/ hell. Who knows who resurrected her.

Nightwolf probably went back to his tribe and lived a peaceful life for the past 10 years.

So anyone else have theories on where these characters have been?

That is the absolute worst story for Smoke I've ever heard.

hmmm doesn't do anything for me either, if Smoke did become a god what was the point of introducing Fujin in MK4? and where was the God of Smoke during the Shinnok vs Gods fight?

I really hope Mileena wasn't killed in MK Gold and was resurrected again. Multiple deaths and resurrections really suck and are unnecessary.

That story wouldn't work, man!

This is my own take on his story which I've posted before.

Smoke:
Smoke returned to Sub-Zero and the Lin Kuei, but would not reveal information on his exploits to his friend. Sub-Zero accepted that this was in his friend’s nature and did not ask questions. Smoke decided to ally with Sub-Zero and promised to help his friend to the end. During this time, Smoke witnessed the power of the Dragon Medallion. Maybe it could restore him back to his human form. Now wasn’t the time to press on such matters. He would speak with Sub-Zero later. Now, both had to prepare for the coming battle. Smoke had returned.

It would explain his apparent change in nature. I have an alternate story, where he was consumed by his own Smoke abilities and became a being of smoke.

I hope you all realize he's not going to be a cyborg and they'll need to explain his change.

Yes it would. Smoke is not going to be human or cyborg....It

A.Explains his disappearance.
B.Explains the new look that he will probably have.
C.Gives him a new purpose.

Prove it, I've seen no evidence that gives any details about Smoke in Deception except that he is in it.

Konqrr said so. Go use the find thread button, and look through Konqrr's predictions. You will see that he has incredible accuracey. I believe his claim of being an insider. The fact that, without fail, every single thing he's predicted has come true, is enough for me.

if you say so, if they're right I'll be happy, I don't like Cyber-Smoke, but it isn't concrete proof 4 now so i'll stay open-minded about the subject.

the person that made the thread ur story for smoke... since when is smoke an element wind water thunder earth and fire are but not smoke so its not a great story sorry

The story is good, IMO. Mostly because it resembles mine in many ways. I don't really have time to wrote my whole Smoke Bio, but here's an outline.

I. Smoke helps defeat Kahn after outworld invasion.
A. Raiden reward's Smoke for his aid
-Two Awards:
-Revived into human form
-Abilities enhanced by Fujin
-Trains under Fujin Briefly
-Still has emotional afflictions; decides to leave Earth realm

II Smoke heads to the living forest to deal with inner pain
A. Farewell
-Says goodbye to Fujin and Subzero
-Warns Subzero of Sektor
B. Training in the living forrest
-Masters his ability; can tranform his flesh into air-based-matter.
-remains in forest throughout MK4, MKDA.

III. Dragon King's assault.
A. Dragon King's actions disturb Smoke's refuge in the forest
-Decides that he has no choice but to fight.
-Leaves the sanctuary of the Living Forest
B. Discovers Subzero is in outworld
-Senses he's in danger
-Seeks ally

Anyway, that's missing all the artful details, but that's a basic skeleton of what happens in my fanfiction. It's a possibility for MKD, but who knows.

I thought Boon or someone said that Smoke would return but not as a human nor a robot, which is more then enough proof that he is probably going to be made of Smoke. I mean what else would he become?

I think he will be a ninja with his own unique ninja outfit of course and that his arms and upper face part will be nothing more then smoke matter. He could have eyes but they would only be the shape which is made out of the smooke. He could look really kool I think if done right and hope Boon took this way with him. Reminds me of Reptile in MK4, only they should have used his second outfit for his primary outfit(but made it non neon green, just regular green would do nicely).
I swear(alot actually) ,the next person who says Smoke is now ele-MENTAL...furious It's like Sub-Zero being a BLIZZARD .What are you smoking? Scorpion isn't made of scorpions ,Rain isn't made of rain. Their named after the powers they use .Smoke emits smoke ,Sub-zero uses ice ,Reptile is a reptile ,Rain is Raiden in disguise Rai(de)n etc...
