Hotaru not a force for good or evil?

Steve Beran, Character Designer "Hotaru is a guardian of Order. His current mission is to restore order to Outworld."
He's there to restore Order to Outworld, so perhaps he's neither good nor evil, a neutral character?
Also perhaps this means that Li Mei is the current General of the DK army? Could be why she was granted her normal appearence again? She could have been placed in the body of the last general? For me this would be good news and an awesome storyline change for Li Mei: The good and innocent slave girl turned brutal general of the undefeatable army of the DK!! I would love to see this!
What do you guys think?

I think Hotaru is a nuetral character with good intentions. He wants to restore order to Outworld. Mabye he's from Orderrealm. Mabye he's the boss of Orderrealm in Konquest mode. As for Li Mei, I think she turned evil or she pretended to and will betray the Dragon King in her ending.
Or it could be she's not pretending, but the whole time that she's carrying out his orders the part of Li Mei that is good is trying to overpower the new evil within her and in her ending she finally prevails and takes out the DK because he never saw it coming?
Hotaru is still evil because if he wants to restore order in outworld to what it used to be, that would mean that he worked for the Dragon King before Kahn came to power, and we know that Hotaru didn't work for Kahn or he would have been in an MK game along time ago. So, basically it still leaves us with him either being a general or henchman of the the Dragon King's army.
Or it could mean that Outworld was not always an evil run down realm as it is now? I mean, Though he is very old, There had to be a time before DK right? Well maybe before that Outworld was a completely different realm...Just speculation, though you could very well be right as well...I guess we'll find out.

I think Hotaru lives in Orderrealm. Mabye the first time the Dragon King took over Outworld, Hotaru stopped him. Mabye since the Dragon King returned, Hotaru traveled to outworld to defeat the DK once more and restore order to Outworld.

The name of the game is deception, he may have evil alterior motives.
bezou, I agree.
I think he will turn out to be Good, according to the nice & probable-future-accuracy Character bios, posted by tgrant, & Steve Beran's description of Hotaru. Li Mei is probably fighting for control of herself while involuntarily serving the Dragon King & commanding his army. Hotaru fighting for Order sounds like fighting for peace, obviously, which sounds like a Good alliance to me. (good - not evil).

I agree 100%
About Me
To anyone who cares, I'm not banned. I left of my own accord. This place is dead to me now.

^Order does not necessarily imply goodness. For an example the Emperor's "New Order" in the Star Wars saga. I dunno - the dude looks evil. But the name of the game is indeed Deception...

I was hoping Hotaru would be evil, he does look the part. Then again, it's been said that he and Dairou will be rivals, and Dairou was portrayed as evil (or at least a maniac) in the MKDA concept art. It's making sense now.
Good or evil, I still think Hotaru's the coolest of MK's newcomers so far, and think he could be a real favourite of mine.

My bio for Hotaru had him evil, but he could easily turn out to be good though. He may be corrupted by the Dragon Kings magic.
Outworld is probably in chaos and celebration with Shao Kahns apparent absence. Also, with Quan and Shang having control over the Dragon Kings army, things are bound to be bad! Hotaru is probably some sort of guardian and must restore order to Outworld before all hell breaks loose.

Yea im not sure either but maybe it was Kitana's Family that imprisoned him, but then her family got overthrown by Shao Kahn after the ten tournaments.
Im not really sure on the Dk's imprisonment, just a theory though
