aye, i think a better heading for this thread is 'how did WE get it so wrong'
that is the way Kano talked in the movie,
which is also the way i pictured him talking for some reason...
and i think it's funny as hell to imagine Kano calling Movado a 'nancy' or 'sally' i can't remember exactly what it was, but i laughed.

As an Australian, i am use to the stereotypical Aussie, made famous by Crocodile Dundee and the Crocodile Hunter. We don't actually sound like that, or behave like that, but personally i don't care what the rest of the world thinks.
my problem is that if you are going to use that kind of stereotypical slang, they should at least have the sense to get the origin right (aussie slang, not UK).

The thing is that most Australian actors, except when they do a part where the accent is very important, are encouraged to use the famous Australian accent, with the "mate" at the end of every sentence, and "crikey" as an exclamation. And recently, the "crocodile hunter" has boosted it even higher, as Jay Leno has a blast every time he goes there.

All I know is that an Autralian/Japanese mix is one whacky-ass accent. Not that it's a bad thing, no no, not at all. It's just trippy when my Gentle American ears hear it. Don't know why I'm posting this.
Anywho, peace and love ya'll.

Why does Kano have an Austrailian accent? According to the MK1 comic book he was "orphaned by an American woman in Tokyo"...what the hell does that have to do with an Aussie accent? I know, I know, he had an Aussie accent in the movie, but again, why?

LOL, I just got this picture in my head of like every male Australian climbing up trees and jumping into Swamps with Crocodiles filming it all and saying stuff like:
"Arrrrr, that was close, this is the most dangerous Croc in the world".
Lol, Steve does rock though, Crocodile Hunter is really great!
Funny how he'll grab the most dangerous snake in the world, stick it right into his face and be all like:
"Isn't she Beautiful, if she bit me now, I'd turn green and explode, the pain would be devastating, oooor, it would be my fault though for pissing her off, ooooor, pretty little beauty, I'm gonna go in this bush now and hump the crap out of her!"
lol.
Nick.
