Simple. I beat Konquest mode first, not sure if this is a must.
Go to the Chaosrealm. There were transportors that couldn't be used my first time through. A blue and I believe an orange one. Anyway, use the transportors until you reach a village. In this village there are house. Go to D-7 and the house around there has the DK Temple inside it. There are other quests around these parts to be found. I haven't done them all.
Anyway, hope this helps.

uhh onaga's stage doesn't need to be unlocked. i don't think you can fight in it any other time except for when you fight ONAGA in arcade mode.

Yes you can unlock it, I have fought in it many times. It's in D-7 in the Chaosrealm in a hut. I found it around 5:00 am. Hope you get it this time

I just confirmed it. Just when I thought I unlocked everything, there's another waiting for me .
