How Jax can be improved....

I added this to the MK6 wishlist, but I might as well post it individually and see what you guys think about my opinion.


Well, Jax is the topic here, and just like myself, I'm sure that everyone agrees that Jax seems lame and kinda out dated. In MK2, he was probably the best, he even had one of the koolest fatalities, the arm rip. In MK3, he had metal arms and it was kinda kool. In MK4, he didnt really change much, Jax just looked a little older and really didn't improve in gameplay.

In MKDA, Jax had a fighting style that I believe suited him very well (Muay Thai) among the other 2 he was given. But there was still something wrong with him, and it is his looks.

I would like to see Jax look more like a Thai kickboxer, sort of like Sagat or that guy from Tekken who is also a Thai kickboxer.
Why not make Jax a little skinnier, less bulky, no hat, no glasses, give him some orange boxer shorts, and some white bandages on his arms and legs, get rid of those stupid metal arms, and maybe add some sort of accessory, like knee pads or whatever to make him look like he's ready to kick some ass, MK style!

Well these are my thoughts on how Jax's appearance would be better, rather than a special forces, plain old boring look.



On another note, his alternate wasn't too bad, it kinda reminded me of 50cent. But it was still not fitting in the MK world.

I forgot to mention some stuff:

If Jax were to return to MK6, he should look like how I stated above and get rid of his newer special moves, like the machine gun, multiple punch, and earthquake.

I would rather see his gotcha grab and punch come back, and his air gotcha back breaker come back as well.

Oh and one more thing, I really, REALLY hated his stupid rambling in MKDA.. I think it's stereotypical, and should just not be continued again towards this character.

I agree strongly with you on the part about Jax's character is extremely stereoypical and it was a small-minded idea to give him those sayings. I think Jax was at his best in MK2, everyone loved him. I agree with the fact he should loose the arms, he was supposed to be the strongest man in the world without them. But your character description of him makes him sound more like that unreal character, Nimbus Terrafaux, who was a boxer.

Jax should still be powerful, but the metal arms and stereotypical mannerisms need to make an exit in MK6.

No offense, but I don't think it would make sense for Jax to come back looking like a Thai kickboxer. I mean, it's a cool look, but I don't think it would really suit Jax. He's not Thai, and he's not a kickboxer; he's an African-American special forces agent, who uses kickboxing, among other styles. Boring though he may be, it wouldn't make sense to make him no longer a special forces agent. Besides, if he looked like a Thai kickboxer, then no other style would be likely to fit him besides Muay Thai.

I do agree with you that some of the shit he said, like "Check this out!" and "AAAWW YEEEAAA!" were stupid and stereotypical, and definately not fitting for a military man.

I don't really have a problem with his look (well, I didn't like his alt) but I think he should lose the hat and the glasses, and bring the goatee back. Also maybe give him camoflauge pants and vest to emphasize the military look. And move-wise, lose the gun; it just doesn't fit in the MK world...and instead of the multi-puch thing bring back the Gotcha grab and Back Breaker.

I think that Jax should keep the military look but he needs to lose the bionic arms and the machine gun. His Earthquake and Piston Punch attacks are fine with me and he should get his Gotcha Grab and Back Breaker attacks. As for his storyline, I would like for his storyline to involve getting his bionic arms destroyed in a battle and learning how to rely on his inner strenghts rather than technology.

I like Jax alot myself and think he needs a Jenny Jones makeover. But I don't think he should look like a kickboxer. It wouldn't fit him being in the Army. I think he needs to loose the gun. It dosen't look right in an MK game. I like his bionic arms, but I think they need to be tone down a little and look more like arms. It looks like he dosen't have any wrists.

As for his moves. The ground pound is a good move. The piston punch kinda sucks. I think he should have his sonic wave back from MK2 and a new gotcha grab. They should also loose the sunglasses, leave that fashion statement to Cage. But most of all, they need to get rid of his alt. and the stereotype they put on him as a black man. Most of the black people that I've talked to don't sound anything like that.

Yeah they should get rid of that alt costume of his in MKDA and they should give him back the Sonic Wave. I can't believe I forgot all about the Sonic Wave move.

i agree with most of you. make jax look more like an army man than a wannabe gansta. jax was very cool in mk2. i dont mind the metal arms, but as someone said tone it down and maybe the metal arms would be his alt. give jax his build and facial hair of the mk2 days, and take those glasses and hat off. bring back the gotchs grab, multi slam of mk2, ground smash of mk2, and the back breaker. maybe they can add a new move and jax is set. oh yeah do something about his storyline.

In my opinion, Jax came looking very cool in MKDA, his best look ever IMO. His metal arms though, looked to exaggerated, they look Ok. I think the glass and hat were cool.
