With a game like Mk it probably wouldn't be wise to leave it in the hands of another developer. With the stories, characters, gameplay, fatalities and the rest, the developer probably wouldn't know how to adapt and evolve these elemts. Another developer would probably try to change the game. this would cause a major uproar by the fans. Despite change or not, it wouldn't have that authentic MK feel about it if made by someone else.
