I dont think each character will only be found in the one place. Its a continuing story so Im more than certain the characters will move from place to place and from realm to realm.
We've seen a few character in konquest already from varius places.

Reptile is in the forest so it is either in earth or Outworld. Darrius and Havik will most likely be from the Realm of Order and the Realm of Chaos. It is a safe bet Shao Kahn, Baraka, Mileena, Ermac and Kintaro are in Outworld.

Mileena's been seen in the Netherrealm, and Kabal has been seen in the Chaosrealm. The characters aint necessarily found in the realm they come from.

Or they could be at same place, just at different times.
