I'll prob. buy a guide.

i never use guides or FAQ's.

I suspect that some unlocks could be random as well.

This is a good thing though and leads to the theory that there will be stacks of secret playable characters.

The reason I think some unlocks will be random, ie. different unlockables after the same task performed on different consoles, is because of that interview where Boon says different players will unlock different characters, stages etc.

As long as we all have a chance to unlock it all in the end it's all good.

I'm gonna buy the guide for the artwork and the renders. I gonan do as much as I can by myself and then I'm gonna go over it with the guide to unlock what I missed.

I try to unlock everything without guide or faq the first months... later, who knows...

I,m not one of these deficient gamers that need to print the 50 pages written by a jerk that played the game all day, found all the secrets and released his FAQ the day after the release date. I don't need that 1) it spoils the game 2) I,m able to play on my own 3) I don't feel like reading a book. 4) I'm sure I can do better than the jerk! I won't go to these forums when the game is released either. Just reading a few topics titles and I will know all the secrets before playing like a proud jerk will write : I FOUND SPIRIT LIU KANG ON DAY 46 OF KONQUEST IN THE CATHEDRAL " or something like that. I don't like knowing everything before playing.

I'll definitely try to unlock everything without codes/guides/faqs but goin by past experience, there always one bugger of a thing that gets u and u need to resort to it. But I like the guide books for character pics stories moves etc.

i'm gonna play the whole game by myself for a long time... and MUCH later I might look for something on internet for free...
like i did in DA ( i only looked on Faqs for stuff in the Krypt after i unlocked every character and most of the costumes...)

Well, I will probably use a FAQ for the fatality's. That's it though. I will do everything else that I possibly can by myself.

If it's 6 months down the road and I'm still missing characters then I might use the guide lol.

Didn't Midway say that the wanted things to remain hidden for awhile, if this is so what makes you think they'll release an official guide to help you find everything, I think most of us will be forced to play through Kanquest blind until somebody or a bunch of people collectively find everything. This means, alot of secrets may just be rumors (ala MK ermac) and others won't be known for a long time.

I don't like using the guides, but if I get stumped out for about an hour and have no clue to where the hell to go I will pull out the guide. But I don't like using them because they spoil the fun.

But I think for this Mortal Kombat I will buy a guide because there might be tricks to the chess, puzzle kombat that could be interesting.

well i hope that there will be more than one way to meet a character or else it will take us forever to find even 3 of them lol. i hope that there will at least be clues given from people and maybe from beatin arcade or the different modes with certain characters

I probably won't look up the secrets on the net for a long time. I'll probably get all of the Krypt Koffins opened first, then turn to unlocking everything in Konquest. If I get really, really stuck, I may turn to the net after that.

I'm not even playing Konquest until everything about it is known. :p

Call me cheap, but I'm not in it for the glory. I'm just in it for the fun and I wants all my secret characters. :D

That being said, I won't be being a guide. Why pay money for something you can get on the internet for free? :D

Im going to get the gudie but not use it for the konquest mode but if i struggle way to much i will most likely use it

I'm going to get the guide bt mainly for the pictures and bios and fatalities bbut im going to play through arcade mode chess and puzzle kombat before i use it for konquest if i need some help

I would hate to play through it without some help because what if there's something you missed so everyone will get help at 1 point or another i guarantee

Because there is more to a guide than just secrets. There is artwork, renders, bios, and a bunch of interesting things.
