The Point is. Ed boon Says he is coming up with a new Storyline but in somewhat relating to the other.
And he says all new Characters. And bringing back Scorpion and Sub-Zero.
If he's Been saying "New new new" While everyone wanting a whole bunch of Older characters in it. Then whats the point for the new things to come?

First I have to ask, where are all these Sonya rumors coming from? Not to say she won't come back, but I'm seeing a lot of people saying she heavily rumored to return....where is this coming from?

All I know of is that Trading Card video in which Boon said to count on seeing more of Sonya...which, BTW, was made back when Deception came out. Let's remember that at that time they also said not to count on Hsu Hao ever returning. So plans can change.


True, Boon has been saying MK8 will be a fresh start with as much new as possible......but that is a very broad and subjective thing to say. Technically, Deadly Alliance was a fresh start in the storyline....even though half the cast consisted of MK1 and MK2 characters. Now for MK8, they could very do that again. I wouldn't want that, but they could. They could start completely from scratch with ONLY Scorpion & Sub-Zero returning and no one else. They could go for something in between with only a handful of returning characters and a new storyline.

The whole "new start" thing could mean a lot of things.

But I'm not following some of your logic as far as returning characters go. Why should Liu Kang and Johnny Cage return because Kitana returns? They're not crucial to her storyline. Why does Mileena have to return if Reptile returns? They have nothing to do with each other. Why does Shao Kahn have to return if Noob Saibot returns? I can understand something like bringing Ashrah back because Sareena and/or Nitara return so they can have a rivalry....but even that isn't requisite. They could always create new rivals for them.

I was just giving random Examples of what could happen.
Sorry I meant to say Baraka and Milleena or whatever.
But you know what I mean. If they brought back a Certain number of Characters. They'd have to eventually might think about forgetting to make a "New" Kind of thing. because it could drag along a bunch of characters.

Scorpion and Sub-Zero are returning, so that's enough talk about these guy's. As for Sonya, I quote Ed Boon...." an MK without Sonya, is worthless and pointless"! So I believe that she will return in MK8, but I wouldn't mind if she didn't return. As I see it, Sonya was in MK 1,(out MK2)in 3, 4, DA and out of MKD. So most likely, Sonya will definetly return.

Reminds me of how great MK2's storyline was.

I remember them saying that MKA would tie up all loose ends and make way for a totally fresh start in MK8. That never happened and MKA was such a terrible game. I was so mad to go through konquest mode with the story telling me that my characetrs actions would have huge consequences, only in the end to find out that..... everythign i did changed nothing at all. wow .

MK 8 is the last chance im giving the MK team to do things right. if it dissappoints then im not going to ever bother with MK again. AS it stands now from the last few titiles, the MK games are really weak fighting games so if MK8 doesnt wow me it will be the last MK game i play.
