I cannot believe it...
uhm.. I dont know if this has been noticed before.. but this game is a blatent re-hash of soul calibur.. I couldnt believe it when I loaded the game up, picked Quan Chi, and got his broadswords out, a horrible thought came over my mind, "Hey, thats just cervantes from Soul Calibur with a different skin.." he even wielded the weapons EXACTLY the way Cervantes did.. thinking this was just a weird coincidence I quit and picked Johnny Cage and switched to his weapon.. this was getting quite pathetic.. I swear this again, is Maxi from Soul Calibur with a different skin! I have been through almost every character and they all play EXACTLY the same as SC when it comes to weapons!! Please say I wasnt the only one to notice this.. please..
Ok.. just played through characters and done some research, I urge anyone who owns Soul Calibur for dreamcast to load it up and see what I mean.. Below is a chart which shows which MK characters are exactly the same as their soul calibur counterpart, and I mean EXACTLY !!! Shang Tsung (MK) is Xianghua (SC) Johnny Cage (MK) is Maxi (SC) Bo Rai Cho (MK) is Kilik (SC) Quan Chi (MK) is Cervantes (SC) Li Mei (MK) is Taki (SC) Scorpion (MK) is Nightmare (SC) Kenshi (MK) is Mitsurugi (SC) Mavado (MK) is Voldo (SC) Kung Lao (MK) is Hwang (SC) Kano (MK) is Cervantes (SC) Midway, how much exactly did you pay Namco to 'slightly' re-code their game? pfft..

yea maybe they coppied, but i for one can forgive it even if they did, because its such a great game
Expecting someone to use broadswords in a different way than Quan Chi does is like expecting someone to pick up a paint brush and start eating with it. They're nowhere near EXACTLY the same and they're similar because you're supposed to use a weapon in a certain way. You can't expect someone just come up with an entirely new way to use a weapon.

you_suck, your right. when they made mkda they had to find the exact fighting stile of broadswords, because it is a world wide figthing stile just like all of the other fighting stiles in this game.

yeah it is similar but another reason for that besides boon liking soul calibur is maybe thats what it looks like when you use those weapons in real life, so it looks similar in both games. and bo rai cho kilik ahhahah that made me chuckle.
