i hit him and he just says why did you attack me ....
i looked for a chest in the right location but i see nothing....
perhaps this is time sensitve?
what am i doing wrong?

Your supposed to help him the first time and the second time look for him in A-4 i belive it was, and fight him

A-4 just walk up and talk to him and you instantly 'Prepare for Kombat'. Although I did the quest for him when he was in another spot but I don't know if that mattered or not. Hope that helps
