I don't believe that's Smoke ,but I have a story if it is.

I SURE AS HELL HOPE THAT IS NOT SMOKE!

Now that I have that out of the way ,it's story time. IF that's truly Smoke ,this is the story behind him


After his soul escaped his cybernetic prison ,he formed an etherial body made from memories of his former self. He now wears the faceplate from his cyber body as a reminder that even those you trust most can betray you. He is somewhat resentful that Sub-Zero managed to escape the automation process ,but has since learned that his former friend has reformed the Lin Kuei and become it's leader ,and utilized the Lin Kuei's Dragon Medalion. Smoke now seeks out Sub-Zero to warn him ,for Smoke alone knows the dark secret behind the medallion.

Well any thoughts?

Thanks. I got the idea the other day buy haven't been online. I also got a crap-ish drawing of the title utilizing the dragon symobl as the "D" in Deception. I'LL post it here later.

I have no doubt that that guy is Smoke, there is no avoiding it. As for the story, I like it. It explains why he doesn't have his conventional human body.

I like the story.

but I think it is Smoke sad. because I remember someone saying before the screenshot was revealed that Smoke was going to be more like the element smoke. And if you look closely to the picture. His body is made up of a haze of smoke.

imo im glad that smoke looks like that plus it goes along with Tetra_Vegas story of him helping sub-zero their masks look alike...to me at least

Because I love your story, I won't go into a rant about how the ninja in the pic is definitely Smoke.

The idea that he still wears the cyber mask is pretty sweet. I had a similar idea, that when Smoke finally got freed of his cyberform, he melted down the remains of his metal form and not only made the metal components of his costume out of it, but also built double scimitars with it as his weapon.
I just think he's been through too many changes. I liked classic MKII Smoke and hoped that form would return ,cyber was ok ,and I hated the wierd UMK3 ninja suits. As I stated above I also had a box art/title idea. It was a quick draw up to get the idea acroos ,not meant to be spectacular.

I usually hate most fan made stories, especially ones regarding the ninja characters, but this is just brilliant! Great job.
And Temp, the idea with the weapons is pretty nice too.

Great stories about Smoke here. I like them.

It would give Smoke a new purpose and build more on their friendship in the end.
