wooho.......not
anyway here it is in all it's goodness
go to practice mode
select your character (say scorpion, with say alternate costume, doesnt matter though)... and then when you pick your opponent, stay on subzero and press up+start
when the round starts YOUR character will be random in it's alternate costume, even though when u picked, it said scorpion

This has been posted awhile ago, if you haven't noticed, occasionally it will give you a random character/alt you haven't unlocked yet. No clue if it's a glitch or an intentional feature but some have even claimed to being able to play as Johnny Cage via this 'glitch'.
