(I just posted this in a thread about Fujin & Stryker, but I though afterwards that probably this requires a thread of it's own)
While there are indeed thousands of ways Midway could have hidden the SUs (and there is NO definate proof that they do not exist) we are unlikely to find them without direct help from Midway.
The only facts we have are:
1: Boon said there were no extra characters which
a) He previously said there were, HE coined the phrase SU!
b) Boon is a notorious liar
c) Anyone who flat out believes him only has his word to go by
d) There are rumors they will be revealed soon
2: Nobody can find them on the disk (or anything related) which
a) Who knows, Midway could have been especially cunning and may have developed a special encryption system to hide and encrypt these character data within seemingly unrelated files.
b) They left everyone else unencrypted... when you have both encrypted and unencrypted files on a game disk, people see the unencrypted stuff and go 'Look, here are the characters! That must be all there are!', whereas if everything was encrypted more people would be convinced that there must be more hidden stuff since they can't isolate the character data.
c) All that really needs to be encrypted are fighting styles, life bar portraits, endings, anouncer voices etc... the models for Jax, Quan-Chi etc are unencrypted and can be accessed with a Gameshark with a limited moveset...
d) Because people have used Gameshark to access these characters and found they have few moves and no endings, they are more convinced than ever that these guys are normally not playable! This really could be a convincing ploy since Midway obviously aware of the players who could 'be' Goro in MK1, Kahn in MK2 etc.
I believe that the game is set up as such:
1: A byte of data is allocated as Access Level
2: Normal Access Level is set to 0 for normal Player Characters
3: Konquest Kombatants are accessed using Level 0, giving them their Primary (limited) move sets
4: When a SU is unlocked, the Access Level for that character is set at 1 to give them access to their Secondary (more useful) character data.
Since no SU character have yet been unlocked, nobody can compare Access Values, meaning that the only value the Gameshark changes at the moment is the Character ID. Since it doesn't change the Access Level of this character, they have their limited character data.
Character Data could be compressed easily (the model is plain to see, but the movesets could be compressed with a different algorhythm so they can blend in better with random code). It could still exist.
So as the name Deception implies, we are indeed being decieved - we currently think we can access all the other characters by changing the Character ID only, and because we can we believe the limited moveset is all we're gonna get... but different procedures may come into play when we actually unlock a SU!
To prove this theory wrong, you'd have to totally decompile and explain EVERY BYTE of data on the Deception CD and nobody except Midway really has any hope of doing that - in fact Midway could probably only do it because they have the game in uncompiled form which is more easily readable, as well as their own notes!
Just a theory, lets hope it's true eh?
Peace!

this is a bit too difficult english for me to understand...but like i said in another topic...im still wandering what boon ment with: ''long after you finished conquest, many secrets can be found''..or something like that... I suppose he didnt say that because he likes to hear himself talk

Before MKD was released, you saw a video in which Boon gought against IGN. I believe the Ermac vs Scorpion fight in the Slaughterhouse. After the first round ends, you definitely hear Boon say something about Sektor, I'm still hoping Sektor will be super unlockable.

I was actually explaining something fairly similar to a friend of mine. The only real logical problem that him and myself could come up with was the fact that it would take them more time than normal of course, to encrypt such files and make sure that they will not be found. Also, implementing the access levels would take more time than normal aswell, and to be quite honest I've never thought of Midway to be the overworking dev team. It's a plausible theory though. Very possible and realistic.

these have been my personal thoughts as well.. they can change the files name even.. for example i have a picture on my desktop of a 'lake'.. however i change the files name to 'land'.. kind of masking the actual thing.. i know its way more complex when it comes to encrypting and what-not.. but i used a very elementary example of what could possible happen... and i know some of you are like ''d00d j4s7 r33d D heX's'' but its very possible to do this... i mean what else did they do for 2 years (circle jerk?).. all the hard shit was over..
