Hi there,
MK3 is my favourite game in the series.. Why? It is fast-paced, there is a lot of action and a high percentage of the gameplay revolves around combos and the special moves. That's exactly the way I like it.. I hated MK:DA because everything is about close combat. Special moves are almost useless. My wishlist for MK7 (since I know MK:D won't be the way I'd like it):
-Lots of special moves with not too much lag time, good and different ranges
-Keep both short and long combos for every character. But make the longer, higher damage one more difficult to execute so there is a reason to choose the shorter, easier one!
-I want super moves (like Xmen or Street Figther) that are a reward for agressive fighting..
-I want no jabbing and small kicks etc.. In fact hardly any close combat. Keep the roundhouse, sweep, uppercut and throws and nothing more.
- I want objects to jump on, to kick at your opponent, wall jumping etc.
-Keep the stage fatalities and stage weapons, I love them
What I am looking for in short is aggressive, fast and furious gameplay.
Who agrees with me that the game should take this direction instead of going towards a complete martial arts simulation + fatalities? (And who does not?)

Note: I do think playing the game should involve skill and experience.. and I think that MK3 did involve skill... skill to know how to counter moves, skill to perform moves and combos correctly every single time, skill to overwhelm the opponent using all the moves in your arsenal in ever different fighting patterns. Games like Soul Calibur and Virtua fighter require more skill, I agree. To me however, MK is about fast and furious fighting and both skill and luck have a part in that.

I DO like the idea of fast paced intensity, but remove the close kombat and you'll have yourself a dragonball Z game with projectiles galore.

nice ideas, I always felt because of MK:DA being limited to short range that projectiles were more or less useless.
An idea I've mentioned before would be to use multiple projectiles in different directions, it would force the the opponent to do something about the projectiles, no matter what range they were fired from.

What if despite blocking a projectile, the enemy still stumbles and loses control for like a second.

The ONLY problem I have with it is the super moves like in Street Fighter. How would they pull those off? Like for instance Sub-Zero a flash of light then he does all this combos. Hmm idk it just doesn't really fit into the MK universe. Because of the way the fight system is. But that would be interesting.

Hi there..
thanks for the (positive) feedback so far...
Subzero13.. I've never played DBZ..but I wouldn't like a projectile galore either..but think of MK3, did you think that was a projectile fest?
FLStyle: Yeah, multiple direction missiles would be great.. a la Shang in DA but then useful ones :P Or stuff like making a copy of yourself that temporarily mirror your moves fighting next to you... or something like Shang Tsung did fighting Liu in the 1st movie or Rain creating Noob Saibot in the 2nd movie. It would definitely look cool!
Kodypowell: I don't see any problem with the supermoves.. Yeah something like a big combo or Kabal slashing away at you with his hookswords taking 40% damage or Nightwolf doing something similar like that with a shadow effect..Or just one extremely painful move: mileena taking a big bite of you, subzero creating a huge ice ball and smashing you with it.. stuff like that..
