Ideas for how thhe gameplay should work

I made this thread so people can give their opinions on how they think this game's fighting system should work. Because there are a lot of "wat r the finishers gonna be" threads, and not enough talking about the actual fighting mechanic that makes a game good.

well, I don't know about you, but I'm pretty curious about the klose kombat.. I'm not really sure what would activate it, and how that would work out

I think there needs to be:


-more fluent fighting (all the moves go together as kombos, rather than certain button combinations)

-reversals rather than parrys.. maybe 2 or 4 of them per character (for example: someone thrrows a punch a punch at sub zero, he catches their arm and freezes it, and then smashes it.. which doesn't shatter the arm, but still hurts)

-more grabs per character (maybe even directional throws). I'm thinking maybe 3 per person. so instead of black button, it could be black button, forward black button, and backward black button, or something.

-multiple "finishers" (one just isn't enough.)


that's all I can think of at the moment.. any ideas?

Yes, and the game still needs to be balanced to it.
