I think there should be some pits for some good fatalities. And with a 3d engine in the game you could see the pit as ur fighting way up top or something. Giving this aspect could improve the game I would say.

And bring back some orignal levels in the earlier mk's. I would like to see what they would look like in 3d. what about yall?

I loved the cave one, with the rock spikes and the lava, I was REALLY dissapointed when I unlocked every arena and it wasnt there
Also a REALLY REALLY high pit would be cool, like being trown out of the Dragonfly

I was just thinkin about something. How would you work the pits with a 3D engine? I mean, all the old pits were in 2D and it was a whole lot simplier, you could just uppercut someone and it would look as if they fell over the side.

Now that we have a 3D engine and we have a full aspect of the arena, how are they going to make it look as if the victim is going over the edge?

Do you think they will go to a side view for the pit stages?

I don't know. I'm just very curious as to how they're going to pull it off.

What do you guys think of this?

id like to see a level that is a wooden bridge over a river in the amazon and you knock them off into the water and piranhas go chew the body up to bones.

or a level like the belltower in mk3, and the opponent slams through a wooden floor into a dungeon and is tortured different ways by a dungeon keeper.

a level set in space and you knock them out a window into space.

Look at how Killer Instinct did it, a spinning camera around the victim, to an underneath view. They can do it, it's all a matter of how to make the camera and bodies move, wether to follow the victim to the bottom or have it cut to different places. It can work, just have to leave it up to the MK team to decide how to do it.

I didn't really mean how the character was going to fall into the pit, I meant, how were they going to make it look realistic when you throw someone over into the pit.

Let me clarify. On Killer Instinct, you had to get the victim close to the edge of the platform you were going to knock them off of. Mortal Kombat, you did an uppercut and the victim just fell over the side of the ledge. Now, were I'm getting at is, how are they going to make it look like you're going to knock your victim over the edge if you're not close to it.

Like in some of the fatalities in MK:DA for instence, Scorpion's fatality. He had to be a pretty good distance away from the victim to perform his fatality, but you could put in the button combination no matter where you were in the arena and it would set Scorpion up for the fatality. Like you could be right up close to the victim, then you put in the button combination, then Scorpion will slide like full screen and do the fatality.

What I'm saying is, will they make so you have to be close to the edge of the arena for you to be able to do the pit fatality or will it automatically set you up for it?

Hope that clarifies it.

Well I personally think that'll they just do what they did in DA because that seemed to work out just fine. But in all honestly I wouldn't mind seeing what they did for the fan in MK4. I thought it was a nice change from the ordinary uppercut, and i think it could've looked awesome in DA.

Here are some ideas of ways for you to knock your opponent into the pits...

Scorpion---He could throw his spear at the victim and snatch them off of the ledge and when Scorpion yanked the spear out of the falling victim, the victim's heart would be on the end of the spear from were it entered his chest.

Jax---He could repeadidly do a ground pound as the ground beneath the victim gradually disentigrates. Eventually, after a good number of ground pounds, the ground beneath the victim gives way and he/she plumets to their death.

Johnny Cage---He could do a massive shadow kick and the victim goes flying over the ledge.

Kenshi---He could use his telekinesis. He would first start to control the victim and slamming him back and forth onton the floor, you hear them screaming in pain and their bones breaking. After Kenshi has stopped, he brings the victim right up to his face and what seems to be him looking at the victim, the victim bleeding out his/her mouth, is then casually casted over the legde.

Sub-Zer---Sub-Zero walks over to the victim and visiously grabs them by the neck. He chokes them for a second or two and slowly turns around carrying the victim with one hand by the throat. Sub-Zero then gets to the edge of the ledge and brings the victim back close to his face and gives him/her an evil look then dangles them over the ledge and he angrily freezes them into a block of ice and visiously throws them downward into the pit.

You guys come up with some more pit fatality sequences.

Here are a pit and level idea.

The Mountain Top- Players fight on a mountain near the edge over looking outworld. When you lose you get kicked over the side. As you fall your body crashes into huge rocks all the way down as the camra follows you. you hear the sound of your bones shattering on the rocks you hit. your mangled body lands at the bottom of the mountain. FATALITY!!!!!

The Blood Pit- you fall into a deep pool of blood with skulls and bones floating in it. as you try to stay a float the bloody hand of a creature that lives in the blood pit comes up behind you. it grabs you by the head and pulls you under. your player kicks and fights to get free but can't. the camra shows a birds eye view down the pit and then the creature throws the fighters skull up out of the pit onto the ground.

I'll think up some more soon.

they should have like a reverse pit, where you uppercut your opponent up, like into a huge fan or onto spikes. I know it was done before but it was cool.

And about the issue of being close to the edge for the 3D uppercut, you could just put in a short combo and the power of the uppercut would vary depeding on where you were on the level. Huge uppercut from the middle, but regular close to the edge
