If you've noticed, MK:D's official website, located at http://www.mkdeception.midway.com has updated. And, man, what a smooth update!

The layout is in a 'wheel' fashion, with links on the outside, circumnavigating the wheel. When you mouse over or click on a link, content from that link shows up in the middle circle.

This layout would be an excellent, and unique layout for a character select screen! I do not think any other fighting game has had a layout like this before.

Now, while, I'm just speculating that this could be true, it still could be true! I do remember seeing, in the MKD Discussion section of this website, a concept character select screen that someone came up with. That concept included a wheel-type layout. Someone drew the wheel idea, and someone else followed up by making a 3D render of the drawing.

It has been rumored that members of Midway's MK team frequent this website for fan feedback, and, maybe even ideas. I would not be surprised if one of the MK team came across this fan art, and decided to play around with it a little bit.
