Zentile Wrote: First to reply! And wow, this sounds great! But, we should remember MKDA. ALOT of things that were going to be in it in the beginning ended up on the side. |
yea but if boon keeps his word this time I think the game is going to turn out awsome; which it sounds like he will. Since there just tweeking the system rather than rewriting it it will be easier for them to concentrate on putting in what we wanted in DA but never got. DA was an awsome game and the new one should be great with the tweeked system. It's awsome that there taloring the game to each system but lets just see how diffrent the graphics will be on each system and what kind of extras. Lets just hope it doesn't turns out like MK3 did with the diffrent versions across the saturn; PSX; and Super NES; That sucked for some users.

All I want for MK6 is more fatalities.
I'm gald they decided to go with a twicked version of the current engine, and not a totally new one. Now they can concentrate on the fatalities and gameplay.
I have an idea - Scorpion could have his teleport from the MK MOVIES where he kiddnaps his opponent into his hellish world. there they continue to fight to the death..

Well in terms of the fighting mechanics, I really hope they do enhance them more than just tweaking the MKDA engine. I'd like all of the characters to be wholesome and polygonal, but somewhat have the 2D MK feel. And as for the fighting styles, I would like to see variations such as one character having two hand to hand styles condensed into one and switching to the weapon while another character will have two hand to hand styles in which he/she can switch to, but instead of having a weapon style, that person could have weapon attacks, etc.

That's one hell of update, awsome news. now we can see what they can do on all three consoles, its going to be interesting thought for the GC because the GC doesnt have an online plan so i wonder what will that mean for the gc version of mk6.

I wish they could use our ideas for it too :P

I'm glad to see each console version being treated different but I hope online play isn't essencial. Although I have PS2 I have no plans to go online anytime soon. And if the Cube cannot have online play, maybe doing something with the GBA connection insted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Feh...nothing but bullshit. I'll beleive all this when I actually see it on screen. As far as i'm concerned its just more empty promises from Boon and Co. I will hold an extremely negative and skeptical view of MK6 until the day it launches in 2004, or more likely 2005.

LOL...as if it wasn't bad enough already. That would make one of the WORST games in the history of..well...games.

Hmm. Tweaked versions? This means only one thing. That XBox version will be the best in graphic. The gameplay and other things will be the same.
you know that would be a great idea.. .I love the scorpion idea... like it shows a lil video how he teleports like kitana... and they teleport to the netherealm and start fighting... another of my ideas was to do like a break a leg or arm kind of thing... like... when they crack a leg or arm... they freeze the game... and it shows the skeleton in the body and show it break... like in "Romeo Must Die"
Very good news indeed. Iam glad their not changing much of the engine used in MK:DA. They can no focus more on the gameplay, fatalities, interactive backgrounds[imapling sounds nice] and new fighters plus the online play. It's also nice to see that each system will be used to it's limits instead of all of them looking the same. It's safe to say that the XBOX version will look better but I'll go w/the PS2 version more likely.
With all that new info that sounds nice, here is a few things that I would like to see......
-Bring back Rayden, Scorpion, Sub Zero and Kung Loa"old" fighters}
-Keep Sonya, Jax and Kitana has part of the game but not as playables, only part of the story.
-Bring in some new, fresh fighter with a mix of classic fighters.
-Make some original fatalitles, I have a good 1 for Scorpion, have the background fatals look and feel real.
-Give us the Dragon King as the last boss or someone other that someone that is already playable.
I look foward to 2004 and the next installment of MK. If what Boon says now stays, this will be the MK game that we all have wanted.

"GC doesn't have online plans"...
NINTENDO doesn't have online plans, as a software company. Thirth party companies (like Midway) should care less on this. The broadband adapter is there.
Let's hope online be just an option of playing, like "Arcade Mode", "Versus Mode", then something like "Online Mode", but just that, an option. Like me, there are tons of people who just don't see the idea of an online console like a standard right now.

its not bullshit you got to stop being a nonbeliever im sure midway doesn't want to screw up a another mk game again. it will have all those things as said, and they should have no excuses this time around. they did a good job on mkda but like all sequels for game they can be improve upon.

Not to be the nagy one, but didn't Boon and Co promise us ripped clothes flesh that tears and stuff like that? that didn't happen.
And before the game was out we allready knew all the fatals and secrets.
I'm with ScorpionKing2003 on this one, see it to believe it.

I hope they used some of our ideas from the mk6 forum, I think some members of the mk team have read them (as a feedback, to see what we did not like and what we want to see in the next MK), surely there is 1 usable idea from all those replies.
Playing SOFII a while back made me think it would be better to make the mk characters a more human-realistic look, at this point they do look cool but they are not looking realistic(more like big plastic puppets). Making them more realistic good get us the thougt back of thinking : "that got to hurt" or "that fatality is disguisting".

not too fussed about fatalities, or platform specific code( i have a ps2- the graphically lowliest console!). I`m also unlikely to use the online option. Good that they aren`t going for a complete rewrite- means they can spend more time/money on gameplay, more features (like character, arenas). The interactive arenas sound like they could be great though.
I definitely agree about having more realistic characters. Said this before and i`ll say it again- get actors to do `live` action cutscenes, and make photorealistic models of these people. This is sort of what MK used to do- take pictures of real people and use them as sprites. (I think)

Heh, I'm sure they've read through the forums, and laughed all the while
I am really looking forward to this instalment of MK, as I think it is going to be very, very hardocre. I only hope that it doesn't come out around the time of Tekken 5. That would suxor. Peace and love ya'll.
