Is Dairou a Samurai?

I think in the Deadly Alliance sketches it said he was Samurai or something like that, and that he was like evil, I think.

im really curious about that myself. i wish he was a samurai...would make a good rival with kenshi. he doesnt look like it though from the wing chun and the autumn dao

Seems like Hotaru is a samurai. He has the flags on his back and is wearing armor. Dairou just seems like a martial arts master.

Dairou dont have a samurai sword but in his mkda Bio it said that he trains in the ways of the Samurai or something like that.
i liked the idea of having samurais in mk,we have Samurais,ninjas and shaolin monks thats cool.
Dairou is a ronin. It's a samurai without a "Master". I don't know the right word to describe it. I think the story about him was, that his master was killed by someone and he looks for revenge. It has maybe something to do with hotarusmile

i thought about hotaru being it, but how is he a samurai if hes from some place called seido. makes no sense. i hope somehow his story makes him a ronin. i want those double katanas.

So is Dairou a Samurai or is Hotaru a Samurai??? I'm confused. sad
Dairou is a fallen samurai, he caused too much bloodshed, I do believe his Krypt thing said. He trains in the art of double katanas, but apparently not anymore. That would've been deadly.

From what I saw of Dairou he looks more like a "Dynasty Warrior" or a reject from "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon".
I am not saying he won't be cool, I think he will be.
What I mean is he appears more from Chinese culture than Japanese.
I'd agree with those that think Hotaru got his old role. He's been overhauled a little.
Hm.. i think that Hotaru is a samurai, but i don't know it for sure. Dairou's Story can u find in MKDA. There's a picture of him and a describtion ( i hope this word is right ), toosmile I also think that dairou's story didn't change in MKD.

I think they've gotten rid of the old Dairou concept, and have a new one in line. BTW, on the official site they have his name listed as "Dairu", which is how it is also pronounced by the announcer, "Die-roo". Think the name has officially changed as well?
