Well Ermac is an enigma composed of other people's souls so he probobly is a demon or just filled with evil who knows.......

One thing people forget, Ermac's physical form, his flesh and blood, were created by Shao Kahn. Being an evil Demi-God/ Demon's spawn, probably makes him automatically evil, or some how tainted.

ermac is compiled from the souls of shao khans finest warriors that had fallen in the past khan took the souls from the netherrealm making ermac a netherrealm demon of sorts
concerning smoke i think that he was killed by khan in mk3 and sent to netherrealm turning him into a demon and he escaped the netherrealm with noob since smoke thinks that the lin kuei is still totally evil he agreed to start a clan with noob

People assume too much. They assumed Ermac is good because he was aided by Kenshi...but who said Kenshi was good? Because he worked for the Special Forces? Didn't he kinda have an ulterior motive?
And they assumed Kabal was good because he was against the Black Dragon...but isn't the Red Dragon as well? And aren't they evil?

kano said that at the end of ashrahs bio it said something about killing noob saibot but letting smoke live because he still had some human sense in him or something so i think that noob smokes deal is just a temporary alliance if ashrah gets her way...muhahahhaha

Kabal swore to fight injustice, That makes him a good-guy.

that is true we were shocked when we found out that kabal was indeed evil. maybe kenshi switched sides or ermac is neutral.
i am think that ashra is out to purify what ever evil is in ermacs inorder to ascend to heaven.
