Way too cheap

Sonya isnt cheap. By far, she is one of the best MKDA characters. Her moves and fighting styles are exelent. Her Kali sticks arent the best weapons, but they are sure very effective when well used in combos.

Her kiss is exelent to do some damaging combos. Shes fast, and her combos are great. She is one of the hardest characters of the game because she has:

1-Great fast styles
2-Great effective moves (only 2, but very ussefull)
3-Powerfull combos

So, just learn how to play her and Ull see how great she is. And, I sometimes have trouble beating her, but when i fight her with Sonya, I beat her up easily.

no, you don't understand. i'm saying she's cheap because she's TOO EASY to play with. fighting AGAINST her is difficult because her moves are too cheap. anyone who has trouble getting good with sonya is retarded and shouldn't be playing this game because it's not at all difficult.

I agree sonya is mad cheap. I love MKDA but i think boon and his girlfriends did a poor job of balancing the characters. (some character have multiple sweeps while others have none)

Two of her weapon combos (X,Y,Back & A or Y,X, Back & A on GameCube) are too effective to use. You can stun the opponent long enough to hit them again and again, and it does pretty good damage too.

Oh, Ok. got it. BTW, what does the difficulty numbers mean??? easy or hard? Cause Sonya has 1, but she is hard! And, I read someone posted that the Difficulty 5 ment EASY, 1 HARD.

I dunno, I don't find her cheap at all. Her Tae Kwon Do style has a huge emphasis on kicks and footwork, and it's a good style to keep people off balance by tripping them over and really exploiting them if they aren't good at defending their lower parts of the body.

Yeah, she is definently hard to defend against. Especially when she's in her Ti Kwan Do (sp?) stance. But with that said, I still think all of the characters are pretty well balanced. I've played through the whole game, I can go through it with every character on max difficulty. And while Sonya has her advantages if you're beginner, she has many weaknesses.

the difficulty rating means how difficult it is to master that character, basically. like scorpion and sonya are the easiest characters to be good with, so they're difficulty 1. drahmin is difficulty 5 i believe, and so is sub zero, although i actually don't think he's among the hardest characters in the game to learn. the difficulty rating doesn't mean how difficult it is to fight against them, but rather with them.

why don't you read the previous posts a few times through before you reply. as i said in the first post and in a reply to someone else who made the same error, i am not commenting on how difficult it is to play WITH her, but AGAINST her. i have no difficulty playing with her. please pay attention.

IF you know the secret to defending against her TKD cheapness (like me! ), then she's not TOO powerful...but she can still 'bring da whoopin' tho if you're not careful!! she does have a 40% guaranteed combo with no wallz: 1,1,4,kiss,nejin,1,1,4,kiss,1,1,CS,4,CS and you can kiss 40% baby! (credit 'MKL' for this one)and anyone that wants to win with her consistently is going to abuse the hell outta her 'kiss' special move....

Sonya is very well put together. Great styles, great combos, she kicks ass. I use her a lot.

Sonya is cheap--but all characters are like that to a point. Just look at Scorpion--he's one of the most popular characters, yet they make him a level 1 where anyone can play as him, easily (it gets people to thinking others are too hard to use, if they select him too often...) and he can kick your ass even in the hands of a newbie IF they punch the buttons right. His spear damages you AND stuns you AND pulls you towards him for a free combo....it'll also pull you out of the air--that's cheap. However, when the comp plays as him, I have no trouble beating him at all. The comp plays VERY well with Sonya, but she's actually harder to use if you play as her. Kung Lao's Whirlwind Kicks actually swerve so you can't sidestep them..... Kano can kick your ass with his cannonball over and over, and Cage can get a near infinite combo with his nunchaku if he gets you in the corner. (Use the 1,1,3,3 combo over and over--all four hits will connect, and usually connect a few more times.) They all have cheap aspects to them--it's just part of MK.

i think part of the game peeps overlook is the actual 'learning how to block other character's shyte'..if you keep getting hit by the same shyte over and over, well, you haven't learned anything yet...and don't just focus on YOUR favorite characters either...know the hit properties of every character's so-called 'cheap' moves and how to block it so that some scrub won't abuse it against you!!!!
