Probably one of the best MK's i'v ever played.

Its very very fun, with or without playing against a friend. It shows all your special moves, and fatalities on one of the two screens, so you know what your doing, and you can try and pull of a Fatality (Animality, Babality, etc.). By loosing the game, and not continuing, you can enter a code, if you notice in the character select, there art three locked characters, you unlock them with the codes. Its awesome because you can have one of the best MK titles, on the go. It has the same feel as on any other console, and is just as thumb hurting as ever! I recommend it.

of course this version still has its fair share of problems. The resolution isn't to great but I guess thats to be expected with the DS screen. Also I was a bit upset that they took out the intro from the arcade version. Also, the game suffers the same black out screen from its snes counter part i.e where you upper cut the other guy to the stage above and it goes black for a moment, on the ds its not has long but its still there. So while its a good game and I would recommend it for those fans who has a ds, its not arcade perfect. I forgot, when you unlock a character it doesn't flip through the new stages like it would in the arcade version, it just goes straight to the blue portal stage. I would rather have had a PERFECT arcade version instead of them adding the puzzle kombat game, not that i dont like it, just didn't need it for me to buy the game.

UMK for DS is pretty awesome, it's super fun and addictive, I used to play it non-stop when I had a DS.

Yeah, I kind of left this topic in another thread, but I think it's suitable here.

I picked up Nintendo Power, and found an article on the game coming to Nintendo DS. I loved the game from the get-go. The only problem is now my DS is dead, and I have to wait to get another DS to play UMK again. I think I need a break anyway. I have been obsessed with trying to beat UMK to unlock the endings. The game started glitching and it pretty much died right before I was about to do a run through with Scorpion.

Oh well though. It will be a much needed break anyway.
