you dont have to pay for ps2 online, except to buy the network adapter. it is fairly good if you dont connect to somebody with a shitty ping. i have lost connection a few times while playing mkd. but i think the other player just quit or something. and theres no lag depending on yours and the other persons connection. so far i have only had lag in two out of like 77 games online.

cool, ps2 network online is free?? yay
But it 'll thru the limit then of your pc connection??? damn, I can only upload like 1,5Gb every 30 days.
Is a network adaptor expensive??
Game will probably lag much if you're further away, not?? I don't think it will sell good in Belgium :-s. They haven't got high hopes for this game in this country. No decent column/article was given in any games magazine. Shame.

I got my PS2 Network Adaptor for $40. I always play online but usually a message always shows up saying "Connection inadequate." So that means you have to disconnected from that player and find a new opponent. It happens 75% percent of the time for me. It sucks and pisses me off. But I still continue to play online, hoping that the other player will have a good connection. My ping is maxed out at 4 stars. So if anyone wants to fight me, my name is BAKURA. And get ready to "GET OVER HERE!"

Hei,
Today I went to the store to look for the network adaptor. It's pretty cheap now here, about 29 euro. But at the back it says something about that it is possible that you have to pay access to certain servers. What's that about??? Is ps2 network play free or not??
I would like to play against other people to fight mk, but I don't want to pay for it. Don't wanna pay for a fight which could end up with the opponent using cheap shots.
Free or not free, that's the question

It is free. You will only have to pay our normal ISP monthly charge to play MKD.
However there a few games that require you to pay an additional monthly fee, like Final Fantasy XI, but these are pretty rare. The vast majority of games can be played for free. Also MKD requires a broadband connection to play so if you're not running cable internet or a T1 connection your SOL.
