The announcer is always supposed to be the main boss. It was like that in MK1 with Shang Tsung, and if you notice II and 3 sound alike, but then 4 has a different sound(i.e. different boss). Also on the credits for trilogy, it has two for Kahn. One for the actor who played him physically, and the other his voice(i.e. the announcer).

And yes, DK sounds wicked awesome.

It's not ALWAYS the boss. In MK4/MKG it was Quan Chi, who was not a boss. He was just Shinnok's right hand man. The same could be true with Deception.


We don't know for 100% certain it was Shang Tsung in MK1.

They're still using the Quan Chi Fatality voice in the videos. But Finish Him is definitely new. And very nice sounding. Very vicious.

although it is true that usually the sub-boss or boss is the announcer. but we were proven wrong with mk:da (raiden was the announcer). i think it is the dragon king but it just might not be. i guess we wont find out for sure until the game comes out *shrugs*

In all MK games ,but MK4,MK4Gold,MK: DA, Mortal Kombat's announcer has always been the boss of the game.Of course MK4/Gold and MK : DA had Quan Chi the 2nd hand man in MK4/gold and the other half of the deadly alliance. This holds true to MK: Deception. The announcer has a "reptile" like voice. With Dragon King being reptile humannoid,one can guess that he is the announcer.

Same here, his voice is so deep and evil. Plus he laughs after saying Hari Kari which is great.

At first they had the Quan Chi annoucer, and I never cared for his voice ever since Shao Kahn. Then they had that new annoucer in for one video(or maybe two) and he was ok, but kinda weak. Now this voice, who sounds alot like how the DK should sound, is just awesome. He definitely earns the right to follow in Shao Kahn's foot steps.

imo all the annoucer voices in every mk are similar, almost equal, so I don't really care who is, since it's similar to others
