Is there a chance for this to be just a spin off game .

I was thinking about it .Why must we deal with the game as if it will continue to get releases .

I have my reason to say that I think this game will be just a spin off just read its name it doesnt seem a name for a game which will get more releases to com also the way the arcade mode will work (playing as MK or DC as the main team ) and that the charcters dont have stories for each just does seem as it is only a spin off ..
Also we have heared that Ed Boon has already begun on MK8 but the broject was cancled or (delayed ) when the Idea of a crossover game was presented to them .
The only thing that support the idea for the game to be the main coming chapter is that Ed said that it will be a coming chapter in the gamers day .
Still he did not say if it will continue like that or he meant it to the first chapter and then the series will come back to its own way .

I was insulting the game but now Iam looking forward to it but the idea for it to be the next main chapter is just wrong .

Yeah it just doesnt seem right .
I really hope that this game =Tekken Tag .

Also onother theory came to my mind we are hearing news that Midway is keeping to lose money at this time .So they are using DC as a card to make quick money .In this way
1)Ed can test the new engin before putting in MK8 .
2)The CO. would make up a little for their lost money .
3)MK8 would not have the mistakes that will be on DC .

spin off game nothing,it's already confirmed that MK vs DC is "MK:8" and it's coming in november or around that time.

Well, from what I understand they have not officially declared it will be MK8, as for it to be MK8 it would have to be canon, and they have said that they will not decide if this is canon or not until MK9 comes out.

I highly doubt that MK9 will be a crossover as well. But, because MK9 is not even in the process of being made yet, why worry about this game, when you have another game coming out with 6 months to go?

Although Iam looking forward to this game still I fear that the rest of the MK games will be just like this ..

My answer is that Iam only buying this game because Iam a long fan of MK and I can force myselfe to play one game only and not 3 games after it which are crossover .wink

Looking forward to kick my brothers in the game .

This is definately just a spinoff and the gameplay will be different from MK8, and it the story will not be canon. Everbody should stop calling the next game MK9 because, when MK gold and MK trilogy came out nobody considered that mk5.

When capcom vs marvel came out the gameplay was a lot different from the gameplay in streetfighter and the story wasn't canon so my theory isn't as crazy as it sounds.

I don't beleive that Midway would be that stupid in making the rest of its Mortal Kombat frenchise into Crossover games. Just like with Armageddon's "KaF" and "KaK" it will be a one time thing. Almost the majority of all the fighting games that are still around to this day had at least one crossover, so Midway thought why not make this game into a crossover.

But just remember, it's going to be a one time thing, I doubt that they'll continue making the rest of its series into crossovers. And how do I know this? Common sense is the answer.
