I feel exactly the same way you do. I am so damn excited about Deception coming out, and it's very frustrating that there are so many mysteries still surrounding it. I think it might be best to leave the surprises for when we play the game. YES I want to know it all now, but I also want to be excited about the secrets when I play the game. It is gonna be a hard 3 months, but we'll make it. I totally agree with posting the facts. The last thing we need right now is a bunch of non factual rumors flying around. Let's stick together as a MK family, and help each other through the next 3 months.

The problem isn't so much that They're witholding too much info, it's that Midway is doing a horrible job of distributing it. I'm not saying the whole game should be a surprise, nor do I think that every element should be revealed prior to October. But so far, we're learning in leaps, that's fucking with our heads. I'm not cool with that.

Instead of giving the fans information in seperate pieces, like they should have, Midway gave us information is huge masses, each separated by unkind hiatuses of time. All this does is inspire impatience. They gave us a trailor. Everyone got hella excited. Then a little time passed. We soon got the initial PSM issue. Then a lot of time passed. They just kept regurgitating info we already knew, and the little info we got was ambiguous(EX: Li Mei). We had to wait months to get any real info, which was E3.

Until now, we haven't gotten shit since May. And now that we do have an update, they're still over-feeding us, which probably signifies that there won't be an update for a while. They shouldn't display four characters in one update when they could have stretched this until late August. I just don't understand Midway.

I totally agree, Midway are making a bit of a hash with the news and info releases.

I remember simply going to the MK:DA website for info on that game and almost monthly, there were character updates, etc. That was cool...you could get excited, find out if your fav character was in, etc...this is just pandamonium.

It's a good tactical idea...but there are some people getting abusive and nasty over confused info, not the excitement i like to see.

It's time for something concrete...not to reveal all the secrets, but to iron out some of these creases!

Here is one fact:

If midway was to leak out alittle bit of the story and some info on the characters and a little more of the fatalities, It would straighten out alot of un answered questions. But then again if they don't leak anything more and keep us in the unknown. The game will be that much more fun and exciting. I remember some of the mags released alot of the fatalities and secrets before we got MKDA and it really ruined the fun of the game, then on fight night when the told us there were no stage fatalities and one fatal move per person the game just fell out. I know it is hard to wait and we are all confused most of the time. But I am truly excited and craving the release. I just want to be surprised like I was back in the day the first time I saw a fatality for the first time. DSB

I agree, surprises are cool, and when I played MK2, i couldn't believe it.

I just want alot of the speculation cleared up, mainly to stop the arguements over characters, etc.

I guess waking up at 3pm every day makes the days FLY by, because daylight only lasts 5 hours or so

Don't get me wrong, I pain for this game every day, and I do agree that the way they release info this time is lame. Take better care of us Midway, Mortal Kombat is the franchise that keeps you above bankrupcy, trust me.

There is SO MUCH STUFF that needs to be cleared up.

1. Are Ben/Kobra the same person, and what is his real name?

2. Is skab his own character, or is he someone's alternate like Noob?

3. Is the girl in the new pictures Jade because she is wearing green, or is it Tanya since we haven't seen her yet? (I think it's Jade)

4. Where are pictures of Sektor and Liu Kang?

Those are just 4 off the top of my head. I was SO disappointed to not have pics of Sektor yet. But, I'm sure someone else can come up with many better questions. I'm just lazy. Make a list.

Give us videos, and CLEARLY CLEAN UP THE RUMORS! My brain hurts trying to read threads from confused people everyday, because for most of them I don't know the answers either!

What r your guys talkin about? This is great! I love all the suspense and mystery to the characters, arenas, story etc. If we learn it all now, when we (finaly!) get Deception you'll be like: "Oh thats cool, I remember it from July" etc... but if they leave many holes in the story and questions unanswered you'll be like: "WOW I can't beleive thats in the game! Or, omg, (insert character here) looks freakin' awesome! Leave us all guessing, its a better strategy than reveal all and have no surprises.

BUT I must admit, they have fuc*ed us around a bit, and it is a little annoying. The months of nothing, then 4 pics that stir up all kinds of nonsense (like its Noob and not Smoke) so I am not happy about how they've gone about things. However, I would like to see some surprises when I play the game, so I might frequent MKO a little less in the lead up to MKD...

I agree, surprises are cool. What I'm not too keen on are the overly heated debates, eg. Kitana/Li Mei. I saw alot of abusive gestures, which isn't supposed to happen over a computer game, surely?! So maybe just a few words from Midway to say who we are looking at, who is playable initially, etc. I dont want complete spoilers or anything, just something to quell the anger/frustration.
I think you are right though, but even if we do get more info, i have a feeling we are in for more surprises than we are currently aware of!

You musn't have been here that long then! I hate all the Smoke/Noob, Li Mei/Kitana (and even Jade/Tanya) talk. And when people start flaming one another over it, it has gone a little far.

Surprises are cool, and hopefully if/when we get more of info, there will be many surprises. I just hope they save the best for the game. I don't wanna know how EVERY character in MKD is gonna look. And especialy the ones on the select screen - the ones we havent already seen. The only things I would realy apprectiate vefore the game's release would be a bit more explanation of the story (but not TOOOOO much, as I can't wait for the FMV intro) and maybe some more screenshots/concept art of the arenas. That's it, and leave the looks of the fighters we haven't seen til we actualy buy the game!

I'm loving every minute of it so far.

If anything we know too much about MKD at this point. Remember when we were waiting for MKDA to come out, the only fatality video we saw (correct that, I saw) was Cage's.

Maybe I'm not getting the point of this thread. Yes, I understand that there are many ambiguities in the info that's been released so far. Personally I think Midway intended it to be so. I think the title "Deception" involves not just the game itself...

1. I think the new picture of him and Li Mei with the fans establishes without a doubt that they are the same. We get a good look at his glove, and it's got the Cobra symbol on it. The pants are similar, too.

2. He's got his own space on the select screen, top right. Shadowy, but pretty obvious that it's him.

3. I wish I knew...

4. I actually hope we see none. I want those 2 to remain secret until I play the game myself. ESPECIALLY Liu Kang.
