1992 or 93....I was in college and working two part-time jobs at the time, so my memory is a bit fuzzy as to the exact date. The game was in the gameroom I worked at though. Got all the free tokens I wanted and was able to play after closing.

And as for me, the first time I played Mortal Kombat was in 1992 in my local arcade. I was about 11 at the time. Who would've known that 12 years later, MK would still be going, and evolve the way it has.

I started probably in '93, lost interest after mk3 till DA in '02.
