ok well just started mucking around with him. at the moment im pretty happy with my nitara and hsu hao game, so i wanted to move onto kano since his weapon style is the same as hsu.

ok firstly does anyone have anything good to finish his 1,1,2,CS ... ??

@ the moment im doing:

power-up,(start in xing)1,1,2,cs,cs,cs,1,1,2 [51%]
power-up,(start in xing)1,1,2,cs,laser [48%]

pretty basic stuff,

also from akido (powerup) 4,4,3,CS,b+2 does i think 47%, which is just taken from the movelist. well as you can c i dont really have much, just wondering if any kano players could enlighten me. he seems very fun to use and the laser eye is fun in combos. weapons stance is very basic, with 1 being a good high poke and down 3 being his longest low poke. sm is basically worthless in weapons. smilesmilesmile

oh 1 more thing, is it just me or does kanos butterflies seem slower than hsu hao's weapons. it seems harder to connect with kanos: 2,b+1,b+2 24% damage juggle. probably just my inagination.tongue

The weapons do seem to be a little different. It may be that the reach on Hsu's weapon is greater than Kano's

kanos ear to ear (b+1,b+2) work most of the time if your doing it on a wall, where as hsu haos works pretty much 70-80% of the time.

to answer your question about how to finish the 1, 1, 2, cs combo this is the most damaging thing i've found to complete it:

1, 1, 2, cs, 4, 3, cs, b-2

the timing on the 4, 3, cs, b-2 part is where you get some variation in the damage that this inflicts. if you do it successfully, it will yield either 28% or 29% damage without powerup. usually the 4 attack after the cs will not connect, but the 3 and then the following ear-to-ear combo with the swords will connect completely. i think the variation either 28 or 29% has to do with how you time the 4, 3 kicks when the person is falling back down, which affects how many of the initial sword blows will hit. the best i've been able to do it is 29%, which is 9 hits, and 28% which is 8 hits. but i'm not a huge kano fan, so someone that likes him better may have found more damaging combos than this.

thanks for that. im finding it hard to do that combo on a regular basis, i keep getting upto the last CS and my opponent drops @ 25% damage. am i meant to take a step forward after the first CS when they bounce?

Actually, do this:

1,1,2,CS...walk forward, 4,4,3,CS,B+2.

Works great against a wall and if you powerup first.

you shouldn't have to take a step. when they bounce, just hit the first 4 attack as soon as it will let you, as there's usually a seconds pause before the controls will respond after you bounce them. as i said, the 4 never really hits, but it is necessary to hit that to initiate the 4, 3, cs, b-2 combo. when i do it, i can pretty consistently get the 28% damage and sometimes 29%. the first hit that will actually get them will be that second kick, which should set them up nicely to get taken out with the two swirls of the ear-to-ear finish. i guess it'd help if i had a video of me doing it, but i think if you play around a bit in practice mode, you'll figure out the timing. even if you don't get all the hits in though, it's still a flashy looking combo, so it's sure to impress some people. it also works perfectly even if the opponent is not up against a wall, which makes it much more useful than most large combos which only work if they're bouncing off of the side of the arena, like the fabled 116% nitara combo. i can't remember exactly, but i think it's 56-57% with powerup. i never use powerups though, because i think they're cheap. same with reversals.

xing yi 1,1,2,5 then power up. then mix up with d+3(25% on powerup) or 4,4,3,5,b+2(57% on powerup)
