Konquest Mode!!! [In MKvsDC]

Because konquest played such a prominent role in the latest MK games, I'm quite certain that it will return for MK8.
The 3 past konquests all focused on different things:
Deadly Alliance - Focused on story. It was more or less a character-study mode than anything else. We basically learned every characters moves while reading a wealth of information about them and their current role in series.
Deception - Focused on exploration. This was a free-roaming adventure game that allowed us to not only explore the 6 major realms but to also learn of their current events. This provided broader information on the MK Universe rather than emphasizing individual characters much, all while letting us play around and see interesting things rather than reading paragraphs of text.
Armageddon - Focused on fighting. This was the least informative of any konquest. It gave us no information on the current events happening throughout the Universe, nor did it allow us to learn about all the characters and their current roles. This emphasized strongly on fighting and avoiding hazards without letting us explore much of anything and informing us only of Taven's role and a few other characters.
The question is.... What should MK8's konquest focus on: story, exploration, gameplay, or.... something else?
Is there a new direction MK8 could take with konquest?
Well, my personal opinion on this is that MK8's konquest should focus on exploration like in MKD but also have portions where we learn about the characters and fight with different people.
The fighting should be executed in real-time, however. Meaning, there should be no loading screens that takes us to an arcade-version battle. No, instead we should fight right then and there in the konquest environment. Armageddon did this for the multi-enemy fights but not the singular fights with important character.
So basically I want MK8's konquest to feature elements from all 3 previous konquests except I want the most emphasis to be placed on exploring the realms. I'd like character studies/training and real-time fights to be the secondary features.

Since the slate will be stripped clean except for some characters, I'm in doubt if it will return or not. In my opinion, it shouldn't return in MK8 or in the future.

I agree with you except I would mingle the single fights with the rest of the konquest. I go into some detail in my thread MK8 tell me your thoughts edited in future games (2nd page). It basically expands on MKD's konquest, has the tutorial of MKDA like MKD kind of did, obviously MKD style, and the relics for a main krypt key to unlock the krypt.
I don't know how it came out all bold, I didn't add the bold feature.

i think it should be a mix of mka and mkd konquests training free roam and fighting

This is good thread. I agree with most of what you're saying. I'd like to see a nice expansion of each character's stories while having a good sense of free-roaming. If they were to bring back the MKA fighting elements, it should be closer to MKSM as I preferred that.

well i think every charactor should have a story mode. and it should be a normal tournament (except the new host im talking off the top of your head new. should be a traighter .) and you have to travel to the arenas like 2 for realm. and you fight random people (not head to head i mean like shoalin monks)And you should be able to PULL OUT A LIKE A SWORD AND A MABYE A LONG RANGE WEPON LIKE A BOW OR GUN. just like the mka konquest TRAILER! that got me real mad the way u cant use a wepon like the dirty japanese version of the game or the early version before they released mka.like kung lao (if hes in) should use his hat as a wepeon.And the enemys should be left over shao kahn solders (shoa kahn A.K.A rieko.) black dragon, undead, lin kuei, and onagas soilders, and barakas race i forget the name.and what i dont get in mka when your in the linkuei temple that was good sub-zero smokes friend he was the leader he ran away. evil sub zero is dead.the lin kuei hate good sub-zero they tried to kill him and why arent the lin kuei solders robots like they should be.and smoke should OFICALY be human again. w00t,w00t,w00t,w00t!
