If anyone has any good high-level gameplay tips for Kung Lao, I would appreciate it if you posted them, I am gettin ready to be in a tournament between me and about 10 of my friends, and I consider myself good with Kung Lao, but there is alway room for improvement. The highest percentage combo I have found with him is , Power Up, 1,1,1,CS,2,4,3 (on the wall) which is 99%, and i can do the 16 hit combo which goes through all three styles twice, im sure you know what i mean. Thanks.

Stick w/ what you know but always mix up the end of your combos from low to high with the sword or finish it w/ you r whirlwind kicks. Kung FU is VERY VERY FAST and his mix-ups are INSANE! He si overpowered in MKDA in the right hands.

Yes, if someone truly becomes skilled and totally masters Kung Lao, he/she will be very hard to beat. He's got Mantis which gets in very nice, fast combo's which do decent damage, nice high and low attacks. Also, in that style, you can regain health. Shaolin Fist packs more of a punch and in this stance you can power-up and do heaps of damage when attacking someone while still in power-up mode. Then his weapon has some great sneaky moves and he can impale them. Combine that with the whirlwind kick and ability to keep people at bay with his hat throw, you've got one heck of a character. I'd say he's my personal favourite, with Scorpion next.
KL is one of my fave fighters too. I'm working on adding variety to my fighting with him and Hsu Hao.
I love his Shaloin Fist technique. I've found that if you alternate well enough from his Broadsword and SF style, then you stand a good chance of winning.

hey dude, kung lao is the best character i reckon :) im a master with his fighting skills :)
....
in practice, impale ur oponent with his sword, then power up and start doing the long combo thats starts in mantis and continues in shaolin fist and ends up with a punch that pushes the character far away, i dunno what the button combinations are or the name of that punch....
if u do exactly what i told u against the wall; it will make 90% to 105% damage... but thats in practice, its pretty hard to get to do it against friends...

How do you do the combo that goes through all three styles twice? Kung Lao is my best character (he is the best) but i don't know how to do that combo? Does anyone know and could they post it?

The combo that goes through the styles twice is:
1,1,1,cs,4,4,cs,1,1,1,cs,4,4,cs
in order to start the second round of the styles, you have to push the L button and 1 at the same time, or it wont register the buttons fast enough, and sometimes the last hit dosnt hit, but i can get it most of the time now, it is 14 hits and 51% damage with no walls and no power ups, and when you do it on one of your friends you can watch their mouth drop! :)
1,1,1,cs,4,4,cs,1,1,1,cs,4,4,cs

Thanks devilgene and 12:43. I'll be sure to check that info!
That's gonna take awhile to practice. how hard is it tolearn. I have one question though. 1,1,1,cs,4,4,cs,1,1,1,cs,4,4,cs. Are the 3 hits, 1,1,1 in Broadsword or do you have to switch twice (straight away) from Broadsword?
Plus the sword does an uppercut swing knocking them away from you. how does it work?

Yo man when you push the last CS then it switches to the sword and it does the sword uppercut popup move at the same time, so while they are in the air is when yu push the style change button and the first 1 of the next branch, you will be in mantis.
