It is more than likely just a background for the Chess Kombat.

I am believing that all classic backgrounds will be used for this mode and this mode only. But until it comes out we can never know for sure.

I agree!

all the classic stages are seen in Chess Kombat! so that's most likely that they will only appear there, unless we can unlock them on the krypt!

Of course the stages aren ́t chessplayable only, that would be stupid to do as we all would have want to play on them in arcade.

I think that the chess arenas will be playable in arcade mode, but the arcade mode arenas wont be playable in chess mode.
