It was a terrible idea to take Lui Kang out of the game like that. However if hes going to be out of the game, do it justice and bring out Chow Kang, Luis missing brother to take his place. Or bring back Lui Kang, (Johnny Cage came back) or both.

I actually think it was great! The idea of getting Liu Kang killed was exelent, I had prayed for that all my life...but when I played MKDA, i just thought on how cool it could had been seeing Liu back.

Its best he was killed, if he wasent, then everyone will just say: "Yes, Liu won MKDA" cause he is the champion of Mk. Having him dead, gives as ideas and thoughts on who could the next champion be.

If he is back in Mk6, I DO HOPE and WISH he comes evil. That would be great. BUt no, dont bring his brother, with Kung Lao is enough.

I think it was a good idea that Liu Kang got killed. I totally agree with queve on that and Chow Kang being in an MK game wouldn't be such a good idea. I liked Liu Kang in the first 2 MKs but after that, he got too repetitive for me and that MK:DA intro was a great twist. I hope that Kung Lao won't end up like Liu Kang.

i love liu kang, but i do think the killing of liu was great for story purposes. i don't really think liu won all these tournaments people think. i also don't think kung lao story line is better than liu's. really it is not, it's basically the same as liu's almost, but not as good in my opinion. both have good basic designs. i guess i am one of the few who don't care about over-the-top costume designs. i think he should come back. i just do not feel right without him. it like taking ryu out of street fighter. most people would be like so what it doest feel right, let's start fresh. well how you feel about scorpion or subby being taken out? exactly.some people just belongs to mortal kombat ya know.

Yah, Kang's style was getting a little stale, even though he always represented - air throw/fireball ownjoo for free grin. I to would love to see an evil kang, believing that Raiden and earthrealm turned their back on him, or something. Perhaps his soul may torment shang, that would be sweet, too. Kang Vs Lao, sssswweeeeet!!!!!!! grin. Any who, peace and love ya'll.

I managed to survive the ''lui'' invasion, so I'll post.
It was a great idea to kill Kang off, because most ppl hated him already. He was getting old. Always the same thing. training, training, fighting. Gah. the man had no personality.

The thing is that, by then, Liu was getting way too powerful. I mean, he defeated Shang Tsung (MK1), Shao Kahn (in MK3) and Shinnok(MK4). At least we suppose he did, since they were defeated and Liu Kang was always refered to as the strongest Earth Warrior (hence the need to get him out of the way for the Deadly Alliance). Finally, he was managing to easily kick Shang's ass once again in the MKDA intro. They wanted for the next bad guy or whatever to at least have a chance. Therefore, they killed Liu. Dying in an unfair fight, he would still technically be invincible (since no one defeated him in a fair fight), but the next vilain will have a clear path towards domination.

As to Liu Kang's return, I think it's bound to happen. The way I see it, it may happen in three ways:
- Liu Kang returns misteriously, good, only nobody knows or believes he's good;
- Liu Kang returns either misteriously or through some magic refered in the storyline, evil, nobody knows it until he kills an earth warrior (probably either someone's pupil or a newcomer);
- Liu Kang returns as an Elder God, after being brought back by either Raiden or the other Elder Gods after the Dragon King kills Raiden in Mortal Kombat, in need for both an Earth Guardian Elder God and someone that can defeat the Dragon King...

I agree it varies things up. If he would have been in it we would just say he won,but now it's unknown for sure what has happened. I do see him coming back though. Not so much in part6 but maybe in part 7

Liu kang was pretty good. I will miss him but it was best to kill him off. Liu Kang didn't win every battle for the games he was in.

In MK1, he won the tournament by beating the Host and sorcerer, Shang tsung,

In MK3, all the earth realm mortals who were involved in the invasion defeated Kahn with the help of some allies from other realms. This caused Kahn to be driven back to Outworld and with the seperations of many realms causing the decreasing of power he became weak and vulnerable.

In MK4, It was Rayden who beat Shinnok, if not Quan Chi or Subzero.

In MKDA, Liu Kang would have beaten Shang tsung had Quan Chi not interfered. I'm pretty sure Liu Kang would have beaten Quan Chi one on one.

mk is different w/o liu kang, and i can see why he died for storyline purposes... maybe they should make a new character to somewhat fill his place. perhaps his brother... or someone entirely new with quick and stylish attacks

i don't agree with that. if that what said is the case, then almost everybody in the mk universe had no personality,
