if people (supposedly being grown up men and women with objective aproaches for theese kind of things) see at least one mililiter of blood in a videogame, they instantly begin to boykot it and shout out loud that my Children will become mass murderers becouse somebody punched someone in the face so hard he spilled some blood.
People... but for those who are religious or too young-well, I won't show this game for my son under the age of 12-14.

if the people that play these violent games have enough sense to realise the game isnt real, then there is no reason to ban them.

I'd say 4 out of every 5 people are sensible and at least smart enough to realize that violence is wrong and that hurting people or animals because you saw it done on a video game is downright assinine. I mean, I sound like an idiot even saying that. Thats just common sense.
Parents and groups that want to ban these kind of violent games are typically people who are jumping on a band wagon because of some personal issue. Unfortunately they do have a legitimate claim, albeit a small percentage.
The problem is that 1 out of 5 people are just dumb, they have an extremely low mental capcity and no common sense or sense of humanity and social behaviour who decide to imitate people or actions they see in movies, television and video games. These people need to be a) gathered up and nuked, b) locked up or c) brainwashed because some people just boggle the mind.
Vioence in our society is due to upbringing and abuse. However, thanx to these 1 out of 5 social outcasts, violence is also caused by, sad to say, video games, tv and movies.
Kinda ruins it for the rest of us 4 out of 5 normal people, huh.
Mind you, who takes anything they see on Fox seriously? lol! They're almost as reliable as CNN! Don't get me started on those storytellers...

Agreed.
Also, should we even bring up the topic of parents not parenting thier children, or do we really need to embarass them on the boards? wink

A ban sounds good. I haven't heard of a ban being imposed on a game since Night Trap on Sega CD. Heh, I'm hopin' 4 a ban on MK:D, finally scrapped up my Kollector Editions, so it's no big deal. So banning will make Midway history, 1st banning of a Midway game. Banning usually boosts a game's sales before it happens anyways, so it's a win-win situation...

I don't think they really plan on banning any game. They are talking about setting an age limit. Under 18 not being able to buy or rent the games rated mature. Just like movie ratings.

I dont think 'bans' should be allowed. People who work in classification should simply apply ratings and ultimately leave the choice to us, the consumer.
If parents dont want their under age kids playing violent games, then they need to control their kids better and NOT BLANKET BAN games and leave the rest of us who are old enough to play games without a choice.

Everytime I see something of this nature it makes me laugh.. What cracks me up about any type of ban, of this nature, is that you have to purchase the item in question. Isn't it great to see there is always some moron out there, *cough* Joe Liberman *cough* that wants to take away someones ability to purchase what they want.
