I don't know if this has been mentioned, so I apologize if it has: but who's to say that 12 extra characters aren't just the unlockable ones? In the PS2 and X-Box versions there are 12 unlockabl;e characters, maybe in the Gamecube version those 12 are just playable from the start as opposed to unlockable...if that is true then I won't be beyond angry at Midway for screwing us non-nintendo fans over.
