If you need more convincing please read what everyone else has to say in the thread.

Yes,MK can't be good in every way,they can't have the best story,best characters,best death traps,the only game with fatalities and still have the best gameplay.Look virtual fighter tekken soul calibur they focuses only on gameplay,mortal kombat on the other hand focuses on story that's why the game even became a movie,If you wan't great gameplay, bad story stupid characters,go play tekken, virtual fighter, soul calibur.Now if you wan't a power story and not just to beat peoples ass hold day until you are tired get mortal kombat.It has perfect story,simple fighting engine that any smart person will enjoy and easy to understand.Look I have friend,I always used to tell him how great mk was,but he always told me it's a silly game,so I lend him deadly alliance for a day and he didn't even brought it back in a weak,when I went to collect it I couldn't beleive the guy was already into the game that much.So it has been said,no comparing mk gameplay to other games that only focuses on gameplay and and not powerful story plot.

I don't have hold day to waste my time reading those those threads so I created my own,I have alot of stuff too do,so I can't read all of them,so please excuse me if this has been someone mention this before.

MK was originally NOT based around storyline, and they had to pick up the ball in Deadly Alliance. The storyline for MK was completely vague, and led to a lot of guessing among fans. The fighting engine isn't exactly what I call "simple." Its actually more along the lines of "unfinished." I prefer Mortal Kombat over Soul Calibur gamewise, but Soul Calibur, Tekken, and Virtua Fighter all have superior engines to Deadly Alliance in every way possible.

Saying MK has a better storyline and characters is a matter of opinion, seeing as how Tekken is my favorite 3D fighting game. I enjoy its characters and story (and damn, they took a sharp turn with Tekken 5). Saying MK has a better gore effect, however, is quite opposite. MK thrives on death on gore, unlike the other fighting games. This is what its mainstay is, and always will be. But, fans do grow older, and I'm not as infatuated with blood and guts as I use to be. There has to be more to the game than that. Chess and Puzzle Kombat won't save Deception this time around. Those modes mean squat, when Midway could be working on the fighting engine. Through a couple of tweaks, the DA fighting engine would be flawless (in terms of an MK game). Speeding up the gameplay doesn't help. If moves are still "stiff" and dial-a-combos are still in full force, then Deception is basically just Super Deadly Alliance II Turbo, and the online competition will mean bullshit to a lot of fighting game fans.

The side games are a waste of time.

Mk is the best game for me don't know about the others.

mines a toss up between Tekken + MK. Before MK went 3D it was always a case of Tekken being my favourite 3D series and MK being my favourite 2D series, and now that MK is 3D it doesn't feel right.

if these games no longer exist a few years down the line i'll always remember Mortal Kombat being a 2D fighter, although sales of MK are pointing towards Deception and its sequels being around for a while yet.

Yeah I thought mortal kombat should of been in 3d a long time ago so they wouldn't have problem with a fast fighting engine.
