First off, I understand that Mobster already posted this in another topic, but that topic is mainly discussing the somewhat confirmation of how many characters there will be.

http://www.videogamer.com/xbox360/mortal_kombat_vs_dc_universe/preview-870-2.html

I'd like to discuss the article as a whole. The article states that hp/k and lp/k are gone, so perhaps there is one universal p/k or maybe different types like in SF?

There will be many people disappointed that seemingly, there will "only" be 20 characters or so. But lemme ask you this... Isn't that a good thing? From the standpoint of just being able to concentrate on a certain amount of characters, designing them, and balancing them out? As opposed to a ridiculously big roster such as 60 characters, and of course, we all know how that turned out.

20 characters still is a good amount, but for a crossover game, some might think that's too small of a roster.

No new characters will be introduced according to Boon, so seemingly, this is indeed somewhat of a diversion game until MK9, when the MK universe by itself will continue with new characters. I'm not sure, I could be wrong.

Just some things to discuss. There's a couple other notes I'd like to talk about, but I'll point em out later or if someone else points it out first, that's fine. I'm just tired right now. lol

Imagine knocking Batman off a skyscraper - as you're both falling you get to fight in the air. You hit the ground and start fighting in the street. You pull Batman towards you and start brawling boxing style with a new perspective and new controls. Then Batman smacks you out of it and blasts you through the ground floor of the building to the other side. You'll be moving in and out of these different game modes and perspectives at a frantic pace. This is a new era for Mortal Kombat. This is Mortal Kombat like we've never seen it before. As Ed describes it: "It's crazy!"

if the gameplay can acheive the level of "crazy" Ed described - then ill be happy with the 20 character roster :)

thanks for posting the link. it was a good article pointing out the angst as well as the anticipation this game holds. personally i'm only slightly skeptical. after seeing the trailer, my faith in the game is affirmed, and i trust ed and co. not to let us down. i do hope the next installment will be a a core mk game tho. maybe even a shaolin monks style mk3 retelling using the unreal engine?
