Well if you watched the vid No love for Jax there ppl screaming there heads off for Joker and Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)and Shazam but not much for MK chars because there were most Comic geeks at Comic-con which shows there are alot more fans now they have brought in DC and who knows this may even interest comic fans with the next MK games.

Discuss your thoughts.

I think you're right it will bring some DC fans to like MK, not saying all because on both sides there's many fans that despise the other.

It will depend on how well MK presents itself. If it's done well enough, some comic fans may be sufficiently intrigued by MK's gameplay and mythology enough to become regular fans.

As a pop culture phenomenon, I think DC probably stands to get more potential growth out of the fanbase. I don't doubt casual buyers and a reasonable amount of DC fans will buy the thing, but I'd expect a very small percentage of those to come back. A percentage of those will be nostalgia returns, too, you'd have to think.

I don't think the numbers will be staggering, but with comics properties so prevelant in all mediums right now, there seems to be more encouragement to buy a comic. It's the nucleus of the experience, and it's on tap throughout the year!

If Tobias returned and actually made future MK games comic bookish like MK3-MKT, then I think they wouldn't mind becoming MK fans.

I'm pretty sure I'm on the MK-only side... yet, at the same time, I'm REALLY interested in the DC mash-up. I'm pretty sure it's the same with the DC side, since MK has a lot of similar heroes and villains with magic powers, utilities, and tight spandex.

i was a comic fan while being a gamer growing up and now. i was just never much of a dc fan. i think a lot of gamers are comic fans anyway, so i doubt it will do that. just wish they could've gotten a marvel license, but i think they're doing good with dc. so far no lame ass dc characters. *cough robin cough*

Well I think if John Tobias helps on the comic side it just might bring in a
few more followers. But the question is how long will they be interested in
MK. Just as long as the games last. Well I know us Mk fans will always stick it out. No matter how many crossovers they do cause we all crave
Mortal Kombat. I think we will all be here when its just MK once again.
The comic book cats will be long gone. Unless they can some how keep
the story line mixed in one way or another. None of us here can see that
happening at all. So enjoy the hype and play the game and in no time it
will be back to ALL MK. As usual.

Ed Boon himself said:"MK and DC franchises have absolutely nothing to do each other! They aren't compatible at all! That's why i accepted to make this game!".
now, excluding the non.sense of the Boon's words, what the hell have DC in common with MK?
I'll tell you:Nothing, they absolutely opposite each other.
few MK fans will be interested in the DC franchise and will become their user, nobody from the DC-only side will be interested in MK vs DCU,in MK in general and most likely won't be interested in anything different from DC.
hope to be clear
