MK vs DCU happens between MK2 and MK3?

I one time saw on wikipedia that MK vs DCU take event in between MK2 and MK3 and in the MKwiki that also says in between MK2 and MK4. If this were true then it does explain why Liu's still alive, Raiden not dark and Edenia still a part of Outworld in Kitana's ending. However, Quan Chi has that appearance only after MK4. So, I don't know what's right.confused

MK vs DCU does not take place on the canon MK series, but when asked by an interviewer, Ed Boon replied that if we were to put MK vs DC in the canon series, it would most likely take place between MK2 and 3.

But, anyways, it does not happen. End of discussion.

it takes place after 3 in the same canon as shoalin monks that would explain why chi is there
